Last week, my wife and I traveled to Manhattan and stayed at The New Yorker Hotel, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience.
We arrived well before the official check-in time, and Afroza greeted us at the front desk. She was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and understanding of our early arrival. She offered to hold our bags while we explored the city and waited for our room to become available.
We were also offered a room upgrade, which of course we happily accepted! We ended up in an amazing suite on the 38th floor with a balcony and incredible city views. What a great surprise! The hotel’s classic Art Deco style was beautiful, and our room was absolutely perfect.
Afroza even offered to pre-check us in and told us she would call as soon as our room was ready. We headed out to explore Manhattan, and, sure enough, she called and let us know that our room was ready.
We stayed for several days, and overall, The New Yorker was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. The location, atmosphere, room, and especially the hospitality made the entire experience truly memorable.
A huge thank-you to Afroza and the entire staff for making our weekend in New York such a special one. Your kindness and excellent service made a great trip even better. We will definitely remember this stay for a long time and would love to return!
It's not a nice hotel. Building feels dilapidated and rooms are very small. Service is intrusive and they have guards that aggressively ask to see your room key when you use the elevator. The lobby is also chaotic. There are better options in NYC for the price.
Posizione davvero centrale, ottima logisticamemte. Diverse metro a due passi. Vicino a Time Square, a piedi circa dieci minuti, vicino alle principali attrazioni di Manhattan.
Stanza molto piccola. Moquette a terra ovviamente...
Comfortable beds, clean room, polite and efficient staff. Room contained extra sets of towels. Excellent location in easy walking distance to Broadway theaters, Times Square, and is right across from Madison Square Garden and next to the Amtrak station. Penn Station and A/C/E or 1/2/3 trains nearby can get you anywhere in NYC. Plenty of restaurants nearby to explore and eat. You are really paying more for the location than anything else at this hotel!
This area of NYC is very crowded with tourists, so prepare to have to wade through a slog of people all the time. Our room had an issue where the AC was leaking. We told the staff and their attempt to fix it only make the leak worse. We had to put the ice bucket on the floor to catch the drip as it was soaking the carpet.
There is no mini-fridge (mini-bar) in the room so don't expect to take any leftovers home.
Rooms and hotel are a bit dated, as other reviews have noted. It feels 'budget' and not like a 3-star hotel. Despite this, the hotel has an 'old NYC' charm that is quite charming in its own way.
The excellent view of New York Skyline
Everything was great 👍
Perfect location . Directly across the road from Penn station. Fly to Newark take NJ transit directly to Penn Station. Walk across the road to your hotel.
Fantastic location and super helpful staff
While the rooms are a little older , the staff and location made up for this . I will definitely stay here again.
It's always a pleasure getting to stay at the New Yorker. It's my go to hotel when I have to stay in the city.
I never have any complaints
Amazing location and felt very New York 😍
Some elements were a bit dated and our room looked into a wall, but was just for one night and we were out most of the time.
Great location for going to an event at MSG
Room outdated
Location
Rooms quite small
