Terrible- avoid at all costs

1. Inconsistency in welcome and service
From the outset, we did not feel that we received the same level of warmth, welcome or attentiveness that we observed being given to other guests. On a number of occasions, the way we were greeted and interacted with made us feel as though we were being treated differently.

I appreciate that this may not have been intentional, and I would not want to make an accusation without knowing the circumstances. However, the experience left us feeling uncomfortable and, at times, as though we were being treated differently from other guests. Regardless of intent, this is not how guests should feel when staying at a Marriott property. What made this more disappointing was that this was not simply one isolated interaction. It was the overall impression created by several interactions throughout our stay.

2. The lack of proactive service at check-out
The experience continued through to check-out.
When we checked out, we were simply handed a bill. We were not asked how our stay had been, whether we had enjoyed our time in Toronto, or even whether we needed any recommendations, guidance or information for our onward travels.
Particularly as guests visiting Toronto, I would have expected some level of engagement from the hotel team, even a simple “How was your stay?”

More importantly, the bill I was handed was significantly higher than I had initially expected, as we had been charged for Wi-Fi usage. It was only because I questioned the charges and asked the colleague to explain the bill that we discovered my Marriott membership number had not been applied to the booking. I was then informed that simply having the membership registered would have meant that the Wi-Fi was complimentary. This was particularly frustrating because it was an issue that could have been avoided through basic attention to the booking and membership details. Tutto, la camera spaziosa, il doppio ingresso che ci permetteva di accedere al centro commerciale Eaton in dieci secondi.
Un grazie particolare alla signora che gestiva la élite lounge durante il nostro soggiorno.

Pros:

The location is good. The room was spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable. If you enjoy shopping the hotel is adjacent to an indoor complex. The staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Great buffet breakfast.

5 night stay
Pros:

Beds and pillows are excellent. Stayed 5 nights and slept great. Location was perfect for going out shopping and exploring.

Cons:

Ive stayed here 3 times. This trip, the Hotel looks tired. It's showing its age. Carpets need replacing, especially elevators. Depending on the day, towels can be very thin. Time to check them and get new. Shower was ok however the control of the wond and shower was broke. Easy fix that has been ignored. Advertising plastered over the first floor elevstor doors looks tacky and cheapens the Brand.
