Room was still dirty and there was food found on the floor. Also a multi-billion dollar company wanted to charge me $60 for an early check in which I found outrageous
the flood lights outside the room at night.
Great location, very clean, friendly staff.
Location
Nothing, service at front desk was horrible
It was terrible, I was moving my daughter into college and I booked a room on booking.com and the hampton Inn did not have the reservation, I showed the women at the desk my reservation number and she told me I need to call booking to get the reservation number from them, i was so upset, she never tried to resolve the issue, didnt even offer us a room, we needed to drive 30 minutes to find a hotel.
It was my worst experience at any hotel.
Her customer service was terrible
Enjoyed my stay. The room was nice and clean. The staff were very nice ,personable and informative.
Room was neat and clean
Parking....2 trucks and motor home parked sideways taking up 10 parking spots. Hot Breakfast food wasn't hot and was out of the potatoes.
Breakfast was provided. It was fine. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Bed was very uncomfortable. Was like sleeping on a stone slab. The room had no microwave. The price was too high for what was provided.
Location
Musty smell, damp carpet..felt unclean
My wife split the trip in half to Kentucky and stayed on the way down to Lexington in Clarksburg WV at a Hampton. This review is based upon her stay at Morgantown on her way home.
She was on a waiting list for a medical test and had to go home 3 days early and called the Morgantown Hampton to see if they had a room. She already had made a reservation for her trip back there for Monday July 20th. During the phone call she told the person on the line that she already had a reservation made for 3 days later but explained her situation and instead needed a room for this evening the 17th and wouldnt need the other one. She checked in and left in the morning to return home.
On Tues the 21st I get a notification on my Amex that Hampton hit my card for $149.
After calling I was told that I needed to call back for a manager, which I did.
From the get-go, Karen the manager was dismissive. She wanted to know who my wife checked in with even though she could have easily found out who checked her in. Then she kept sounding like she was looking at a computer and kept saying "hmm, there's no notes in the system saying to cancel".........so she was considered a "no-show" and charged per their policy.
I asked my wife if she mentioned the Monday reservation and she said she told the person on the phone and the person when she checked in. It wasn't cancelled obviously and because the employee never entered notes, I was charged. Very convenient. Karen was zero help, let me talk about how my wife confirmed that she told the check in person.......then she'd say "no notes in the system....can't do anything". I got so frustrated by her being so dismissive to my situation and not even considering that their employee didn't make the notes that I cursed at her before I hung up.
So I contact Hilton Honors customer service and explain the problem and of course they kick it to the same GSM that wouldn't help me before. She sends me an email also copying her GM and basically paints it like all I did was threaten bad reviews and curse her out. Not true. I simply stated that if she was unwilling to consider the possibility that an employee forgot to cancel her reservation that I would exercise my right to give them a bad review. MY wife wasn't a no show.......she showed up 3 days early and nobody cancelled the secondary reservation. It would have been much easier to just refund me and keep a happy Hilton customer. But no.
Now looking at the negative reviews here I see that many are related to similar issues.
Instead of keeping a good Hilton Hampton customer, they choose to be petty and blame the customer instead of looking at themselves and that maybe they need to make sure that requests like my wifes are completed. With this current, "no notes, can't refund" policy it essentially isolates the problem as being the customers fault and exonerates any mistakes that their employees possibly made. Bad optics.
Convenience and location
The air conditioner didn't cool the room and the system was very nosy.
Good breakfast and comfortable bed.
Layout of bathroom was a little weird. Maybe that was because it was handicap accessible.
Property is located next to the medical center. Very convenient. Breakfast is available. Staff very friendly and personable.
The first room I was assigned had a very strong odor like mildew. Staff quickly assigned another room.
Everything was as expected excepted.
