The location was convenient for what we wanted to do. A couple negative surprises, other than that, what you would expect from a Hampton Inn.
Surprised to learn when we arrived that they charged $20 per night for parking (credit is showing a $50 charge instead of a $20 charge). Never had that experience at a Hampton Inn before, and it changed the math when comparing prices. I did not eat at the breakfast buffet, but the family members who went there said it was disappointing.
Mostly what you would expect from a Hampton Inn, with a couple negative issues that influenced my rating. At check-in, was surprised to learn that parking is $20 per night (per car, we had two cars with people arriving from different directions). Checked my pending charges on my credit card, and was charged $50 per car per night -- hoping to get that fixed tomorrow. Also, the breakfast was disappointing. On the plus side, the location is convenient and the common areas and sleeping rooms were clean. Given the number of hotel options in Charlottesville, we'll probably stay elsewhere next time.
Comfortable beds, clean room, parking onsite, location proximity to UVA
Location near hospital because husband was having heart surgery. Close to a few places to eat and train station so my sister could come and stay with me.
As a paying guest it still cost you additional money to park in the parking lot. I have never had to do this at any other hotel. I splashed water on bathroom floor and wiped it up with bathroom wash cloth. The cloth was filthy with black dirt, so floor had not been mopped in a while. I reported it to front desk and it was never addressed. The towels I placed on the floor to prevent walking on dirty floor were still there when we returned later that day.
This was a last minute booking. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hallways were quiet after 10 p.m. Breakfast was typical for a hotel of this class. The location is in a shopping center that is past its sell daate, but it is close enough to other areas that have life in them. The hotel is far enough from the main road and well insulated enough so it's quiet inside. You might find some problems -- the cooling system is loud and the two electrical sockets closest to the bed on the built in table did not work. It's not luxurious; it's a Hampton Inn.
Close to hospital, clean, nice staff
I didn’t like that I was in the same room for three nights and didn’t have maid service. I asked for and got clean towels in the hallway from a maid and took them back in the room myself the second day. When I needed to stay the 3rd night, I expected the dirty towels to be removed and new towels to be put in my room and my bed made. Nothing was done. I had to use a hand towel for a wash cloth.

$20 per night parking was not well-communicated during the booking process, and it is too high; breakfast adequate; fruit - over-ripe bananas; size of cups for hot beverages is very small

Was charged a $350 smoking fee by a “sensor in the room” which detected a level of smoke 10x “normal range”. Normal range is 0-10 and the “sensor” picked up a “smoke index” of 100 in our room (LOL!)
Neither myself nor my wife has even purchased a pack of cigarettes in our life, Nevermind smoke, and definitely not in the hotel. The management had no resolution or explanation for this other than to “dispute with your card company.” They did not offer to reverse the charge and said it was out of their hands
Seems like they probably charge people this fee a lot and hope they either don’t notice it or just pay it
Also, the place is dingy and dirty, we chose to wear shoes in the room bc the carpets were nasty. And also the woman at the front desk, Paula, has an attitude meant for the DMV, not for hospitality.
Stay away, there’s plenty of other better options in C’Ville
