Room, breakfast, facilities
Everything and I'm pretty hard to please.
The weather in Wellington
The staff! Amazing. Every person was attentive, and genuinely friendly. They totally impressed us.
We felt the restaurant menu could be amended by adding a few more simple choices. Also who puts a yorkshire pudding with chicken? Weird imo.
Lovely room but television hard to operate for a non tech person compared to other hotels we have in recently. Step up shower is a strange idea.
Bed was very comfortable.
Dinner in the restaurant was expensive for what was served. Rare steak was excellent and perfectly cooked , jus was fantastic but ruined by tasteless some green oil tipped around it.But side of potatoes were poor and were definitely cooked at least a day before.
Steak Tartare was a major disappointment.
Burger was average with way too many lukewarm warm chips.Bar snack croquette tasted fantastic but was over fried and very greasy
Breakfast:
Stewed tastless bacon on the breakfast buffet and the chicken sausages were awful.
Every thing else was on the breakfast was good and a wide selection.
Great location, staff are so lovely and friendly
The pool was a bit too cold for my liking. Chocolates on the bed would’ve been a nice touch for the people that missed the chocolate hour
Great hotel in a good location. We had a basic twin room which was small with just a street view but on the plus side it was clean with everything we needed and modern decor. They originally placed in a room which interconnected with another but since the noise from next door travelled, they very kindly relocated us to a quieter room (same layout but without any neighbours). I was most impressed with the staff on duty that they found a solution for us without any difficulty. The restaurant/breakfast room had a great view and again staff on duty were lovely and very accomodating. The chocolate hour was an added bonus although not something I'd choose to repeat. Thanks for an overall comfortable stay.
catering inclusions
room space very tight especially around desk/chair, plus not enough clear desk space with giant lamp.
Room not cleaned or towels changed on weekday 2 night stay.
Great staff. We enjoyed the gym, pool and sauna and it was great to have the chocolate hour. The room had the facilities described but see below.
Some deferred maintenance - the first room central air conditioning was too noisy and the second room door stuck. The staff were very responsive when this was pointed out - in the first case they moved us to a different room and in the second they oiled the door and proactively told us what they and done.
The staff are fantastic, extremely helpful
Could feel the join of the bed
Foyer was lovely, bar was great, atmosphere was great.
That we could hear the person next door snoring.
Good location. Great cocktails. Enjoyed chocolate hour. Valet parking was quick and easy. Room was a good size.
Lovely property, rooms are quite small but have everything you need. Within walking distance to city centre. Staff were exceptional! Great facilities
Honestly the chocolate buffet was a little disappointing.
Comfy stay, beautiful breakfast, easy to walk into town. Loved the cocoa tea and biscuit at the lobby. And loved the sauna!
we missed the happy chocolate hour... was thinking a complimentary chocolate on the pillow would have been a great touch for a 5 star hotel.
