Comfortable stay, not sure it's deserving of 5 stars.
Pros:

The location is fantastic,walking distance to the casino, botanic gardens and to restaurants and cafes
Bed was comfortable..

Cons:

A little old and outdated, definitely overdue for a facelift. A little inconvenient not to have a lift up from the carpark.

Disappointing stay for my wife's 55th birthday at the Stamford Hotel.
Pros:

Nice location.

Cons:

Building looking worn. Pillows were awful as way too soft with no support. Room was cleaned but no toilet paper was provided & we had to ask for it. Ordered a toasted sandwich & coffee which to 1.5 hours to arrive after calling 2 times to find out where it was. Tomato soup delivered to the room was actually a pasta sauce & it was way too strong & rich in taste. Breakfast was terrible. Rubbery eggs & hard, overcooked bacon. The tv was old & unreliable & there was a total outage of the on the 14th floor that we were staying on. Staff came across as unhappy & miserable. Mini bar is ridiculously understocked & not even biscuits were provided. This is not a 5 star hotel. Very deceptive marketing & should be reviewed.

Disappointing stay at the Stamford Hotel in Brisbane.
Pros:

The Stamford Hotel is in a great location. A fantastic view from our room looking over the Brisbane River. The poor tasting food, confused customer service, food delivery to our room taking 1.5 hours after ordering, lack of toilet rolls being provided after a room service & a very poor & expensive mini bar, makes this hotel fall below the 5 stars that it claims to be.

There is nothing worse than paying for a high-caliber hotel room, waking up looking forward to a decent morning brew, and finding nothing but a couple of sad, dusty sachets of instant coffee. At a certain price point, guest expectations naturally shift from "basic shelter" to "a curated experience"—and a cheap cup of instant completely breaks that illusion.
