The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are so comfortable! Travelled with a friend for a hiking trip relax at the end. We have stayed before and did not disappoint again. The buffet breakfasts have something for everyone and the pool is so wonderful. Easy walking distance to shops and main sights. Staff are super helpful and friendly. The welcome cookie at check-in is delicious.
Unfortunately there were renovations going on when we went there this time and woke us up early each morning when we were craving a sleep in.
Staff - from reception throughout stay - were excellent and highly client focused
The pool is lovely and the environs comfortable whether just relaxing or dining

Welcome cookies and comfy clean rooms
Through our own mismanagement we ended up at the DoubleTree without a reservation after leaving The Ghan. We'd stopped at the Hilton first, thinking that was where a reservation had been booked and were told we could have the last room for $750+ dollars for one night, despite having an acknowledged reservation for the following two nights at much less and being Diamond members with Hilton. Thank goodness we taxied to the DoubleTree. The stupendous night manager took one look at us and resolved to get us a room at half the price the Hilton had quoted us, to contact The Ghan directly to try to resolve the confusion and to ensure one traveler got the (very needed) drink from the bar that was imminently closing. He was a god send and after working until 11 the night before he was back the next morning with a smile and the same excellent customer service. The room provided was clean, comfortable and quiet. The noon check out matched perfectly with the check in the next day at the Hilton. Would definitely stay at the DoubleTree again just based on the super front desk manager's great customer service. So sorry I didn't write down his name so I could properly attribute credit.
