The staff was pleasant and accommodated our request to be by an elevator or stairway upon arrival.
The room appeared to be clean. Linens and towels looked to be fresh.
We stayed at this hotel in mid June. Prior to arrival, I made two requests via Booking.com to the hotel, which were given no response. Booking.com provides hosts with an email every time a guest makes an edit or contacts the hotel, so I believe more prompt and proactive attention is needed in terms of communication through OTAs.
Upon arrival, there was construction happening in the lobby. This is understandable, but I would have loved a message as we were traveling with a dog on a roadtrip that may have been overstimulated by the commotion. To combat this, we just accessed our room via the stairs to avoid the busyness of the lobby. We simply would have appreciated a message that would have allowed us to explore other accommodation options.
In the room, it appeared clean. There was debris on the floor, which we just threw away. There was also soapy water in the conditioner dispenser in the shower.
Great Staff who were super helpful. Good breakfast and facilities. The beds were nice.
None
The breakfast offerins were small but tasted good. The staff was friendly and helpful
The TV didn't work for the two days we were there.
they ate my money and didn't reimburse me I to check in and they said there was not a room for me
Staff are wonderful, from front desk to the shuttle driver. Breakfast looked to be good. Variety of places within walking distance for eating.
Fridge did not close all of the way (minor).
New mattresses!
Price, location, reputation
Avoid this hotel until at least late January when their ongoing renovation is scheduled to be completed. Not only is there ongoing cumbersome and noisy renovation BUT there is a very strong toluene hydrocarbon solvent smell which caused me to sneeze, have a runny nose and have irritated eyes. As a chemistry major I also know that hydrocarbon solvents are carcinogenic, cancer-causing.
In my opinion, they should shut this hotel down for safety reasons until renovations are completed and certainly until these dangerous and malodorous solvents are no longer present. In addition, they charged me $219 for weekend rates which is double the weekday rate. And they charged $150 for a longer stay pet fee even though we checked out after 3 miserable days of our scheduled 9 day stay.
Christian was very kind and understanding at the front desk if I can find something positive to say.
Obviously, we were highly dissatisfied with our overpriced stay which became increasingly worse day after day. When hotel asked us to move because of construction/renovation, we took the opportunity to check out/ escape AND go to Hilton Garden Inn next door which was cleaner and much less expensive. We shall choose Hilton Garden Inn Middleton again for our next visit since we come frequently to this area.
Sincerely,
KHS, M.D.
Update: Received an email from Daniel M., General Manager: "Because of the inconvenience you experienced, I have refunded your entire stay. Additionally, we would love the opportunity to welcome you back and show you the improvements we made to the property. Please also, accept one complimentary night with us on a future date of your choice.
If you feel comfortable and believe we have addressed your concerns, we would greatly appreciate it if you might consider updating or revisiting your review."
Problem is that he was untruthful and never refunded my entire stay as he clearly stated he had done and ignored my texts and emails.
