Outstanding stay. Highly recommend this hotel. Excellent service, top notch staff, very clean, excellent drinks and food, perfect pool and jacuzzi temps, excellent location, waterfront, easy access to beach and strand entertainment, free beach/ocean supplies and bike use, 2x/week poolside hired entertainment. Will be coming back again soon!
great location; our room was described as 'partial ocean view' but we could see all the down the beach and much of the ocean; note that we were on the Diamond Street side and it was a bit noisy with delivery trucks. The staff at the front desk and especially at the restaurant was sensational. We loved the pool and the cafe. The food is nothing special, the drinks were good, the atmosphere most lovely, the service near perfection.
Can I give 100 stars out of 5?! I have never stayed at a hotel in my life with this kind of service! I cannot say enough to the wonderful experience we had here. I will ALWAYS stay and ALWAYS recommend this hotel.
Freshly made chocolate chip cookies and lemonade daily!!
Free boogy boards, umbrellas, bikes!!

Staff extremely friendly and helpful
All the beach gear available
What can I share about this hotel - everything was amazing. The hotel was very well staffed. We had a small issue with the booking and got upgraded to a suite, which was lovely and very appreciated. Literally steps to the beach and the hotel's availability of beach items was incredibly helpful, and there was never a shortage or wait for anything. Facilities were all very clean. Restaurant quality was high and the fire performance was the perfect form of entertainment for the summer, for all ages. The bedding was a little warm for my taste, but the rest of my family didn't feel that way so may just be individual preference. Would definitely stay here again, no question!
Prachtige locatie en heel mooi zwembad.
Iets oudere kamers
My husband and I travel to Pacific Beach once a year to spend time with my son who lives there. This was our first stay at Pacific Terrace. We loved the laid back vibe. The staff are all amazing and it's obvious that they really care. The room was spacious and clean and thoughtfully decorated and maintained. There was some outside noise because our room faced a side street but we had a wonderful view of the ocean. We have stayed at other resorts in the area but from now on, this is where we will stay.
The location is ideal for the view, restaurants, and walking path. The sound of the ocean is magical, and the rooms are beautiful and bed so comfortable. The front desk and all staff were beyond helpful -have beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards were a huge bonus.
Excellent hotel. The staff was outstanding; helpful, friendly and professional. You cannot beat the location of the Pacific Terrace Hotel, right on the beach with mostly oceanview (at least) rooms. Also it is right on the ocean walk which has a lot of activity, but just outside the real hub of PB, so you are not overwhelmed. The rooms are generously sized, seriously the biggest hotel rooms I have stayed in. it made the stay so much nicer to make the room more like home instead of tripping over luggage. If you are looking for a nice boutique hotel right on the best beach, stay here. If you want a corporate hotel, maybe not for you, but I would take this hotel over a Marriott, IHG or Hilton brand 100 times out of 100.
The pacific Terrace Hotel was quite possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! I’ve stayed at the Don Cesar in St Pete Beach Florida, all the way to the Savoy in London, and this place takes the cake!
Let’s get right to it… At check-in they have flavored water at the desk and you get two bottles of Evian in your room.
Everything I needed in the room was right there. Outlets, trashcan, tissues, lights, switches, remote, everything.
We were only staying three nights and two days so I said I probably did not need maid service. They asked what did I need? Was I low on anything? I said we could use a roll of toilet paper and another soap. They brought that within 30 minutes. Then, they texted the next day to inquire if I was sure I did not need housekeeping the second day, any assistance or anything replenished!
The only thing I could say if I had to say something would be the room isn’t completely dark when it’s light outside. The wooden doors don’t really cover the sun and I stayed on Indiana time so we went to bed at 7 PM Dan Diego time. It’s minor and that’s not their problem.
They have beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, all at the desk and all free! Just ask!
Parking is $45 a night but it includes valet so you can drive up and they will do the rest.
The gym is in the basement and is very small, only one or two people will fit comfortably, but it’s California, just go outside and walk or run!
Our trip was in June, so it was 60° or less at night and I wore a hoodie everywhere I went all day every day and one morning, I wore long pants.
This place is a dream! If you go to Kono’s Café, be ready to stand in line an hour outside! Oh, and you have to go get a separate line for coffee! Good but nothing is that good lol. However, go a couple blocks over to the botanist barista and you won’t be sorry!
Wonderful stay! Room was much larger than expected, nightly turn down service with chocolates on our pillows. Staff was exceptional! Gave great recommendations and always available. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
L’emplacement, la location gratuite de vélos et équipement de plage.
L’odeur dans la chambre, ça sent le vieux.
Bruit de la climatisation à l’extérieur
We had a wonderful five nights in Pacific Terrace. We had a Junior suite with ocean view, located on 2nd floor. We loved the spacious balcony, which overlooked the pool area and the beach.
The hotel is located at the northern end of Pacific Beach - with direct access to the ocean front walk and steps down to the beach.
The staff were always friendly and very helpful, and the hotel provided beach chairs, parasols, bicycles and beach toys for guests to use as needed.
There are plenty of really good food and drink options within a short walk of the hotel - with the chicken wings at Dirty Birds PB a must.
Whilst by no means the cheapest place to stay in PB, we found it well priced for the level of product offered.
There is underground parking on-site with self-park and valet options (both for a nightly fee). We opted for self-park, and to be honest couldn’t see the point of valet when the parking was onsite and directly accessible from the hotel elevator. In fact it was probably easier to be able to drop things down to the car in the basement instead of needing a valet to assist.
We didn’t include breakfast when booking, but ended up eating breakfast at the hotel some mornings, and eating at other local breakfast restaurants on other mornings, and we think that is probably the approach we would recommend if asked.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and the facilities and staff at the hotel played a big part in that.
When we next visit San Diego, we hope we can come back to Pacific Terrace.
Had a wonderful time staying at the Pacific Terrace Hotel in San Diego. The staff is incredible and very accommodating, and you are right next to the PB boardwalk and there’s several places to eat/shop at right next to the hotel. The hotel is right on the ocean and the hotel offers beach toys and boogie boards to use, which I thought was awesome. They also let you rent bikes if you need another way to travel on the boardwalk! Another amazing thing about this place is we could walk from our room straight out to the pool, and they had poolside service for drinks and food. You definitely get what you pay for it was an incredible place to celebrate 2 years with my girlfriend, and I will definitely be coming back!!
