Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape

We had 2 brilliant cosy winter nights at Duikersdrift with my 2 small kids. Farm was perfect for some short bike rides and walks to feed the adorable donkeys and to look at the cows - cute play area too. It was too cold for the lovely looking swimming pool and hot tub (it rained) but we hope to use them next time. Kim and Justin were super accommodating and communicative and friendly. The meal add-ons were lovely as well. Brilliantly located close to town but close to other wine farms. AC very helpful in the icy winter mornings. Highly reccommend.

We were back after 8 years to stay at Duikersdrift and loved seeing the growth of the trees and plants around the cottages. They are still as fabulous as ever with the indoor fireplace, aircon and new addition of the kitchenette. The beds are amazing, i almost couldn't get up in the morning because they are so comfortable! Lovely breakfast delivered to our room each morning, including fresh bread, quiche, yogurt and fruit, granola, cheese and ham, fresh juice and milk!! We loved setting up our table outside and enjoying the view while eating. The Kolkols were just the cherry on the top. Late night stargazing and conversations over wine are so much better when sitting in the hot tubs.

The unit was well equipped and tastefully furnished and decorated. The hot tub was a big treat. The continental breakfast that was delivered to us the next morning was very nice and such a good idea to serve it in our room, which meant that we could enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains for a while longer.

They offered wine tasting in the room that was brilliant. We ordered the braai basket and it was excellent value for money and very well presented. The hosts where very helpful and kind. The cottage was stunning!

We hadden heel slecht weer: elektriciteit was uitgevallen (storm). We zouden verblijven in cottage 1, werden verplaatst naar cottage 3 ( zelfde type), omdat er wateroverlast was. Door uitval van elektra konden we niet eten in het restaurant en hebben we geen gebruik kunnen maken van de hottub. Maar ze hebben er alles aangedaan om het ongemak te minimaliseren. David bracht extra hout voor de kachel, kaarsen en zaklampen. Het restaurant bakte pizza's voor ons in de steenoven. Heel veel dank daarvoor!!!! De kamer was schoon en sfeervol ingericht en het uitzicht was fantastisch. We hebben daar heel erg van genoten, ondanks het slechte weer. Het ontbijt was ook erg goed.

The cottages are perfectly situated in Tulbagh. The Mountain View’s were our favourite, waking up in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee with the mountain right in front of you is simply breathtaking.

Beautiful location and views. Bed was very comfortable. Coffee, tea and fresh milk provided.

Das Frühstück wurde morgens mit einem lächelnden "Guten Morgen" von Kim in einem Korb gebracht. Es war alles dabei von Brot, Wurst, Käse, Obst, Cerealien usw.
Kim war jederzeit, auch für Wünsche für den nächsten Morgen, per WhatsApp erreichbar.
Nebenan gibt es ein Restaurant, so dass man den Abend auf dem Gelände ausklingen lassen kann.
Auch schön ist der Pool im Garten-
