Pros:

A small, very stylish, slightly austere hotel in a quiet side street. The breakfasts are fantastic but are served in your room because there is no restaurant. Very friendly staff

Mogana was a wonderful, peaceful retreat in Kyoto.
Pros:

Generous, delicious breakfast. Staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Beautiful and tranquil room and bath. Convenient location.

Cons:

Room was beautiful but somewhat impractical, with limited options for clothing storage. I think someone with a lot of luggage might be uncomfortable here.

Relaxing, fun and amazing
Pros:

Very relaxed and Zen, Staff were all so lovely and friendly , happy to help and give advice on things to do in Kyoto. Amazing breakfast with lots of varied choices.

Cicho, z pomysłem, uprzejmą obsługa z dobrym angielskim, dużo udogodnien i pomysł na design.

Cons:

Nie jest to pięciogwiazdkowy hotel i nie powinien sie tak oznaczać. Design ciekawy, ale nam nie przypadł do gustu, zimno i ciężkawo. Pokoje z pomysłem i dobrze wyposażone ale odpadający tynkz brudne ściany czy nieprzyjemnie pachnącą pościel niszczą efekt. W barze 2 drinki do wyboru

Staff made the stay worth it
Pros:

The staff made the stay a lovely one :) from the receptionist who recommended local spots to the bartender who asked about your trip! they are friendly, attentive, and helpful without being overly “service-y”. They saw that my stay coincided with my birthday and gifted a pair of chopsticks, which was a thoughtful touch!

The charge is inclusive of delicious tea & coffee and the mini fridge in the room, plus a drink at the bar every night, which is sadly not very common nowadays so I appreciated the hospitality.

The room had ambient music playing controlled by an iPod touch!!

Location is great - close to good spots (sub 20 mins by foot) but quiet, though it could be a personal preference.

The minimalist design is up my alley. Clean lines with no ruffles.

No spa/massage or restaurant in house
