The bungalows are lovely. Very basic, but I loved the fact that everything is almost in the open air, the room has big windows, it really seems to sleep in the nature. The owner is very flexible, he rented me a scooter to reach the park, which is only 5-10 min drive from the accomodation and he also let me have the room for a late check out, until 18 🥰 very much needed, because after the park you really need a shower.
You have to be organized, and have readyade plans, so you have to arrive there and already know what to do. The staff is very relaxed, so if you do not show up, they don't care much about you (which can be seen as a positive or also a negative aspect). Only the owner (the father) speaks English, so you need Google translate to communicate with the rest of the staff
The people were very friendly and supportive. The garden was quite nice. The owner offered the option to drive us several times.
The bungalow was open with many insects inside and I had to find a solution to be protected from the Moskitos. There was a mobile mosquito net, but a bit dirty.
The food was rather mediocre.
Sometimes is was very loud.
It’s very well located as a starting point for visiting the Cuc Phuong national park. Luan and his family are very good hosts. Luan also rents motorbike for the visit and can help you a lot with your stay. He is really wonderful.
It was comfortable and the owner is friendly. If you want to stay close to the national park, it is the perfect option. There is a nice garden to relax in.
There aren't many options for restaurants around, but the restaurant there is good value.
Great location for visiting Cuc Phuong National Park — just a few minutes by motorbike. The accommodation is basic but clean, and the staff are friendly. I had a pleasant and peaceful stay here. There’s a hammock on the veranda, which is perfect. The food is average.
Cuc Phuong bungalows
Luan and his family are wonderful hosts, kind, and generous, helpful, and sweet. The environment of their accommodation is lovely, with orchids everywhere, a fish, pond, and peaceful trees, and birds. For one of my dinners, I requested some sort of leafy green vegetable, and they had no trouble meeting my needs. I was headed into the national park early on my second day, and they were happy to prepare some breakfast and lunch for me to take, and had it ready nice and early. All of the food they served me was tasty and made with fresh ingredients. When I arrived at dusk, the mosquitoes were out in force, and the door to my bungalow was wide open, as well as the window, so I started out with some mosquitoes in my room, but eventually was able to kill them off. The room is huge and clean, and the bed is comfortable. AC works great. Nights were quiet, just the way I like them. This is a place of peace and comfort, where I could happily spend much more time, and I look forward to returning one day.
Velmi milý a ochotný personál.
Heel landelijk.
Very quiet location and friendly host
Good food and accomodation

Great value
Cuc Phuong bungalow provides basic but clean accommodation for a good price. The food was plentiful and very tasty, with a few good vegan and vegetarian options. The homestay is in a nice location a few kilometres from the entrance to the national park, and there are scooters and pedal bikes that you can hire to get around. Cycling is good if you want a bit of a workout! The hosts were friendly and helpful and offered us a ride back to Ninh Bình at the end of our stay at a reasonable price.
Our bungalow didn't have glass in the window, only shutters. They didn't fit very tightly so insects did come in - an insect mesh over the window would have been a good addition. As is often the case in Vietnam, the beds were rather hard for our tastes.
We did struggle a bit to find information online on how to get to the area. The host was responsive on Whatsapp and informed us that there is a bus from Ninh Bình bus station to Nho Quan, the nearest town (number 5 bus). We were able to get a Grab taxi from Nho Quan to the homestay, although there only seemed to be one driver around. I have heard there is a bus direct from Hanoi to Nho Quan too. A taxi all the way from Ninh Bình is also an option, but be aware it may not be so easy to get a driver on the way back!
