Pros:

Aufgrund einer Baustelle gegenüber war es sehr laut, ungemütlich und auf der Terrasse extrem staubig. Wir haben noch vor Ort storniert und sind in ein anderes Hotel gewechselt.

Pleasant stay
Pros:

Amazing hotel - clean and comfortable room, staff is welcoming and ready to support, location is great too - basically city center with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants around. The nearest tram stop is 3 min walk. Very good breakfast - I was fond of their pancakes, good coffee too. However options are limited so if you’re staying for 1-2 nights, I think you’ll be good, otherwise you’ll find it hard to play with available options.
As you’re in the city center surrounded by restaurants and bars, Saturday became very loud until midnight, but hotel provided ear plugs well in advance, so that wasn’t something troubling.
I would recommend this accommodation for both short and long stays.

Cons:

I would encourage the hotel to provide a shoehorn. Also, I found the scent of the lotion and hair conditioner rather unpleasant. Although all of the toiletries appeared to be of very high quality, I couldn’t fully enjoy using them because of the fragrance.

They took away the bathroom towels one day without bringing new ones

Air con doesn’t exist, there is a ventilation system that doesn’t work and I called for help and they couldn’t help me with that. The room was 24 degrees. I opened the window and thank god it was 19 degrees outside because if it was sommer I would be dying.

Breakfast was 25.- extra but absolutely not worth it.

Cons:

The hotel is located on a central street, which is convenient, but we had difficulty resting and sleeping due to the loud noise coming from the bar downstairs late at night. The noise was significant enough that we had to call the reception and ask them to intervene.

One of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at
Pros:

One of the best managed hotels I have ever stayed at. Everything was so thoughtful from the free drink on the rooftop to the city pass and the natural slippers that make your feet feel brand new. Also the more warm and helpful staff.

Cons:

A bit noisy from the clubs below at night.

Das Art House Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Es kann zwar mit dem PKW nicht angefahren werden, jedoch gibt es ein recht angenehmes Parkhaus (Steinen) in nur 2 min Entfernung.
Das von uns bewohnte Zimmer war sehr angenehm, mit einem großen, sehr breiten Bett, vielerlei Annehmlichkeiten (Parkettboden, WC getrennt, Kaffeemaschine und Wasserkocher etc.) und insgesamt toller Atmosphäre.
Die Begrüßung am Empfang war besonders freundlich - der nette Mitarbeiter beantwortete alle unsere Fragen und machte eine telefonische Tischreservierung im Restaurant.
Wir bekamen als Upgrade ein Zimmer mit Terrasse!

Cons:

Die Lage in Basels Partymeile hat in Wochenendnächten akustische Nachteile: während an der Seite zur Fußgängerzone (Steinenvorstadt) der Feierlärm von der Straße bis spät in die Nacht zu hören ist, bekommt man an der Hotelrückseite den akustischen, sehr basslastigen Footprint eines nahagelegenen Clubs zu spüren - auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern. Konsequenterweise liegen im Zimmer Ohrstöpsel bereit!
Am Morgen hingegen ist es ruhiger als auf einem Dorf - nur Vogelgezwitscher ist zu hören. Von der Terrasse schaut man leider nur auf eine gegenüberliegende, sehr nahe Baustelle.
Einzige Kritik im Zimmer: die Beschriftung der Schalter für das recht komplexe Lichtsystem ist sehr klein ausgefallen...
