The most homey and comfortable stay we had in all of Iceland!
Pros:

The owners and staff are so kind and accommodating! You can feel the magic and love in every corner of the hotel and factory grounds. The factory tour was a highlight of our entire Iceland trip!

Museumsreifes Hotel in schöner Lage
Pros:

Die Lage ist "am Ende der Welt" - aber sehr schön mit Blick aufs Meer, wenn man ein Zimmer in der richtigen Richtung hat. ES ist urig, alt und gleicht einem Museum. Auf eine gewisse Art ist es heimelig, aber nicht sehr komfortabel.

Cons:

Die Treppe zum Obergeschoß, wo die Zimmer sind, ist alt und ausgetreten und sehr eng. Wenn man also nicht gut zu Fuß ist, sollte man das Hotel besser meiden. Besonders mit Gepäck wird die Treppe zum großen Hindernis. Und man muss die Schuhe ausziehen und unten lassen, also Hausschuhe einpacken und griffbereit haben.

Great stay
Pros:

Second time staying here to get out into the wild remote of Iceland. The staff are great food is great and it’s literally so so quiet. Cool surroundings

Cons:

Rooms can be a little hard to have a deep sleep as the guesthouse is genuinely old and wooden and squeaks a bit

It was literally in the middle of nowhere, but I’d still say it was such a cozy and peaceful place, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Views from the hotel windows are great.

Cons:

The road leading to the hotel isn’t even gravel, and what should normally be a one-hour drive feels like two because the road is so uneven. It’s still reachable with pretty much any vehicle, though.

The other thing is that the wooden structure of the building is nice and old, but you can’t really rest properly because there’s basically no soundproofing at all. Every time someone moves around in another room or walks down the hallway, you can hear everything.
Food is expensive too.
