This was my 4th visit to Bluebird Cady Hill Lodge. I first came to attend a girls hockey tournament and have come back every year to stay with friends while our kids attend hockey camp at Norwich University. The rooms are comfortable, clean with a vintage vibe. The lodge is warm and inviting and the staff has always been so friendly. We love hanging out there or out by the fire pits to wind down the day. I love that we can walk to town for a coffee in the morning, excellent breakfast options and The Bench across the street is perfect for dinner. I call it adult summer camp! The views and fresh air make for a perfect retreat. I tell everyone about this lodge!

This lodge is just off the main road with plenty of parking. We were given a room with two very comfortable beds. The check in process was easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a large, comfortable recreation room with food on offer and several places to sit and eat/drink. The complimentary tea and coffee was very welcome.

Best location,charming

Was here with friends for a birthday weekend getaway. The resort was excellent and the accommodations were very nice. Used the hot tub and indoor pool, was right in the heart of Stowe. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Stowe. Staff were great. Rooms were spacious and private. perfect for a gathering with family or friends. Property was well maintained.

I rarely write reviews, but this time...
Starting with the good: nice lounge area off the lobby, and gave us a room upgrade (probably because we have Hyatt status and the lodge was not very full).

Now to the really not so good:

First, bugs in the shower and bathroom, and bugs in the room. Really. I took photos of them in the shower on the day that we departed. Would have told someone at the front desk, but no one there at 730 am (not some middle of the night time).

Second, Bluebird Cady Hill Lodge did not honor the quote rate in my Hyatt/Mr & Mrs Smith reservation. Bluebird Cady Hill charged us more ($353) than what Hyatt reservation was ($322) was when we made it. When I nicely raised that difference with the front desk supervisor, her response was:
"I would also strongly urge you to contact Hyatt and Mr & Mrs Smith about this quoting error as well as this is not something within our power at the property level that we can adjust. I will be sure to inform my team that this is an active error, and again want to thank you for your diligence and support."

My response: "I appreciate your strongly urging that I contact Hyatt and Mr & Mrs Smith, but that’s really not how I want to spend my two days of vacation here. And, my guess is that they will, in turn, suggest that I talk with you.
Suggestion: You/Cady Hill might consider talking with Hyatt and Mr & Mrs Smith so that you don’t have unhappy customers who are given higher total charges at Cady Hill than quoted by Hyatt and Mr & Mrs Smith. Thank you for considering"

Come on folks, honor the quoted rate.

Third, the Bluebird Cady Hill Lodge is understaffed. One person appears to cover the front desk and the place to make food orders in the lounge (and probably do other things as well. No one at the front desk for checkout at 730 am.

I don't like to diss businesses in these challenging times, but feedback is important, too. Travelers to Stowe should be able to find better options.

Very peaceful and comfortable. Room was cozy, beds comfortable. Location is great. Good value.
