Breakfast was good and it was clean staff was helpful
Bathroom needed small areas fixed
We have always relied on Hampton Inn hotels when we travel because they are consistently clean with a good breakfast. This Hampton Inn was the complete opposite. The lobby must have been renovated but our rooms were so outdated, they must have been original from decades ago. We were clearly in a room that was once a smoking room and that stale cigarette smell never leaves. The carpet was old and dark and I wouldn't walk on it barefoot. Actually, the whole room was dark. The unit that holds the AC unit was chipped and paint was scraped off. The bathroom door had clearly swelled over the year and no longer closes all the way. The pillow cases were too small for the pillows and parts of the pillow stuck out. Which was also pretty gross, like whose head was on this pillow before me?? The bed was lumpy. Even the free breakfast, which is normally reliably decent at a Hampton Inn, was pretty bad. The oatmeal was runny and the hard boiled eggs were over cooked. The cooked eggs were basically patties that would be found in an egg McMuffin. The front desk staff was friendly but the free bottle of water and chocolate chip cookie didn't come close to making up for how gross our room was. My sister stayed down the hall and had the same experience.
Room was big and clean, Breakfast.
no pool as advertised
Avoid the Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown at all costs. This property is in a state of severe physical deterioration and represents a massive health and safety liability.
For three consecutive days of our stay, we repeatedly warned the front desk that our room's toilet was malfunctioning. Our warnings were completely ignored. On our departure morning, right as we were trying to leave for an early flight, the system completely failed. Wastewater backed up and flooded the entire bathroom floor, leaking heavily onto the bedroom carpet. It was an absolute biohazard. When confronted, the front desk team explicitly admitted to their negligence in writing, texting me: "We understand your frustration, especially after reporting the issue multiple times and not seeing it resolved."
Beyond the plumbing disaster, the staff is deceptive—texting us that the room was fully serviced when they actually left us completely without basic amenities like toilet paper. The property itself is filthy and falling apart. The elevators were caked in dirt, entry steps were littered with trash, and the outdoor concrete structural staircases are severely cracked, rusted out, and actively crumbling down to the rebar, lazily blocked off with basic hazard tape.
This stay was an absolute nightmare and a blatant violation of basic public health and hospitality standards. I am actively disputing the full $585.00 transaction through my credit card company for gross merchant negligence. Do not risk your health or safety staying here.
Great location
seems very outdated and could be cleaner
bathroom was small .toliet was very small and the bed had a valley in the middle .the out
the outside was in rough shape .
The hotel was dirty and in serious need of updating, from the carpet to the furniture; all of it felt tired and beyond cleaning. Do not stay here.
I turned on the shower, and brown water came pouring out. I’m not someone who usually complains or leaves reviews, but I felt compelled to share this. If my wife had been with me, we would have had to leave immediately and find another hotel. Thankfully, it was just me on a business trip.
Beds were soft, service was good. Room was Clean, easy to get into the highway.
Was close to family
Very large crack on our bedroom window
Cigar burns on the table. Sharp metal sticking four inches out the side of the bed cut my leg. Water stains all over the ceiling. No thermostat. Uncomfortable bed. Dumpy with rust, ripped wall paper, water damage, etc. Tv stopped working, required unplug and reboot. Disappointing.
I was completely screwed over by this hotel’s booking. I have nothing good to say the fact that my refund was an approved even though I booked the same two rooms the night of and stayed successfully is complete BS. I was unable to get any support from a manager or Hampton Inn terrible experience.
