Great atmosphere very clean cozy rooms great food
Air conditioning in my room could have been better and the breakfast service was extremely slow and tables not being cleared quick enough for guests
The Hyatt Regency Greenwich was my second overnight stop from a Florida to Massachusetts drive. The hotel grounds, common area, and room were very clean and comfortable. This was just what I needed after a long drive. Overall a pleasant comfortable stay.
We decided on a whim to travel to Greenwich for a short weekend trip. The hotel is beautiful like an ancient majestic church. There was even a church service while we were there. I love architecture and history and the place felt magical. We ate at the Townsend Bar. Whoever decorated it has an eye for beauty. Mohammed our server was so polite and prompt in providing us what we wanted. The drinks were delicious. The bartender made awesome margaritas with just the right amount of spice on the rim. Jair at front desk accommodated us with late complimentary checkout. Everyone including the guests were friendly and loved our little dog. It was great.
The Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a very nice hotel. The staff are wonderful. The amenities are as advertised. If you are a Hyatt discoverist, it's a no-brainer if your travels take you to Southern CT.
While I have family residing in the immediate area, I always stay at Hyatt when visiting them.
In recent years, while the property was being "renovated" and was changing ownership as frequently as a Banana Republic changes "El Presidentes", the place was starting to resemble a two star "Budgetel".
But all that is now in the past, and the property is again "Beautiful". The renovated rooms feature a small amenity that I wish was elsewhere as well. This is a rheostat on the bedside lights which means one can gradually raise the brightness as they awake instead of the glaring "full on" while half asleep.
All the public areas - Conference Rooms, Bar, Gift Shop, are all named for Greenwich landmarks. While I did not use, there appears to be some kind of table service offered at the Townsend (first dial telephone exchange in Greenwich) Bar as an adjunct to their Room Service. The full service restaurant, once named Winfield's and in common with many other four star properties I visit, has been closed.
But all, what an improvement from my recent stays.
Front desk staff service above and beyond, especially Soile. Great location near lovely Old Greenwich. Exterior of hotel a little dingy - needs a pressure wash- but otherwise a lovely property. The large atrium is a beautiful sunny setting to work or have coffee. $25 daily parking fee a little ridiculous given the size of the lot and where the hotel is. Well equipped gym with 3 peloton bikes.
Our room was okay.
The location of our room was an
Incredibly long hike from the elevator. Quite a bad surprise!
The ice machine was miles away too.
No breakfast included for the hefty fee.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience.
The hotel itself is beautiful, elegant, and very comfortable. The room was spacious, well-designed, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay.
The only downside was the lighting, which felt quite dim even with all the lights turned on.
Unfortunately, we experienced some confusion regarding payment. The room charge was taken both through Booking and again at the hotel upon check-in. We brought this to the staff’s attention immediately and were told it was a mistake and that the money would be returned.
While the refund was eventually processed, the communication throughout the process was disappointing. For several days after check-out, it was difficult to get clear information about when the refund would be issued, the amount being returned, and even basic details such as breakfast pricing.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that we often had to explain the entire issue again to different staff members, as shifts changed and each person seemed to have different information. This led to confusion and made it difficult to understand what was actually happening with the refund.
We also requested a receipt to be sent by email, but despite being told it would be provided, we never received it.
Beautiful place to spend the night - the atrium restaurant / bar rivaled an award winning arboretum, and provided the perfect spot to land after a long day of driving. All the amenities 5 stars, and a shout out to Jair, a one of a kind front deskman who made us feel extra welcomed!
Had a great experience checking in with Soile. Hyatt does a great job hiring their people and people like her are the reason I continue to choose Hyatt over Marriott and Hilton. (I booked through Expedia because it was significantly cheaper than Hyatt direct and she still treated me like gold.)
Front desk managers especially helpful .
The hotel lost power and water in the morning of the day I was checking out. I was about to get in the shower when it happened. As a disabled guest in a handicap room I would have expected a generator to at least supply a light to the handicapped rooms. I also would have expected communication from the front desk.
Convenient location
The property experienced a full water outage during our stay along with a corresponding power outage. That was after we were awoken by loud music playing in the atrium at 8am. While the hotel agreed to waive the fees for our entire stay, Booking.com could not negotiate that same deal and therefore, despite the horrible experience, we merely got a $50 credit from booking.com. From now on, I will be booking directly with the hotels whenever possible.
The room was fine.
There was no electricity or water in the morning. And they also lost my father's blazer inbetween reception and the room. Kind of a shit show. I couldn't believe I was paying over $400 in Greenwich for such mediocrity.
We had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Regency! We had been traveling all day and expected to make it home, but ended up being too tired. So, we booked the Hyatt last minute and showed up looking pretty rough. But, no worries! Jair and Soile took great care of us. The check-in process was super easy and Jair was very friendly and efficient in getting our rooms assigned. You know when you are so tired you are dreading the whole hassle of check-in? This was the opposite - we felt so welcomed! The rooms were beautiful and immaculately cleaned. We only stayed for 1 night, so didn’t get to take advantage of all the amenities, but wish we had. Thanks so much Jair and Soile - you rep Hyatt like pros!! Hope we get the chance to come back for another stay.
Location was far away from any landmark. Atmosphere was calm and interior was very impressive. Rooms were spacious. Noise levels were low. Meal options were limited and service quality was low (delay in addressing queries and in helpline response).
1) Horrendous water pressure in shower, could not effeectively shower and wash off soap.
2) No water at all on lasdt day of stay
3) PROBLEMS WITH Valet parking
HORRIBLE customer service and communication! While I was not at the hotel, my mother, who was staying with me, accidentally misplaced her room key. When she politely asked the receptionist for a replacement, they did not give her one!!! They called me to ask for all of the information related to my reservation, including forwarding the confirmation email, my ID, and the last four digits of my credit card number!! All for a ROOM KEY!!
The receptionist then BERATED me over the phone for not being with her at the time that she was asking!
This hotel’s employees need to learn basic respect and how to fulfill simple customer requests. Our experience was a nightmare!
I stayed at this property a couple of weeks ago and had an outstanding experience. The service was impeccable, the food was excellent, and room service was prompt and professional.
I would especially like to recognize Pamela at the front desk. Her service went above and beyond my expectations. I had an issue that needed to be resolved, and she not only handled it efficiently but also took the extra step of helping me locate a box I had been searching for. She followed up personally to make sure everything was taken care of and demonstrated exceptional customer service throughout my stay.
Overall, I consider this one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The staff truly cares about their guests, and Pamela’s professionalism and dedication made a lasting impression. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
