Location is perfect. Room is clean , beds are very comfortable. Very quiet. Atmosphere is calm. Food is delicious.
Location was great . It stops there !
Shabby, smelly , dated rooms . Smelly pillows . Had to use a bath towel to wrap pillows in on the bed . Staff not friendly or helpful except one girl on the front desk . Bar staff rude
Tv did not work . We asked for new pillows & tv fixed . Neither happened. We stayed 3 nights . I won’t be back
I recently stayed at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago, IL from July 18, 2026 - July 22, 2026 after booking and prepaying through Priceline on April 18, 2026. Specifically, I booked and prepaid both the room rate of $609.44 ( $152.36 / night) for 4 nights and taxes and fees of $159.04 for a total charge of $768.48. Despite this, upon checking out at approximately 11:19AM CDT on 7/22/26, I was notified by front desk staff at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel that my card on file was being charged additional city taxes and a destination fee totaling $103.12. I requested to speak to a manager on duty given that taxes and fees were already prepaid at the time of booking but was told that at 11:19AM CDT, no manager was currently on duty. The front desk staff was provided my email and assured me that they would email me resolution of this issue by afternoon on the same date, but no email or phone communication was received. As of writing this complaint on July 26, 2026, I still have not received communication from the Hotel. Importantly, Priceline states that “For pay-now reservations when you are charged at the time of your reservation, in connection with facilitating your hotel transaction, the charge to you will include a charge for ‘Taxes and Fees’…Our hotel suppliers generally include all applicable taxes for your hotel room in the amount billed to us.” Furthermore, Priceline highlights that “Any mandatory hotel-specific fees will be disclosed to you prior to booking your reservation.” Lastly, one of the services (free bottled water) paid for through the destination fee was unavailable for multiple days of the stay due to stock-out. HOW CAN YOU BE OUT OF BOTTLED WATER!? I am concerned that either Priceline or the Hotel is double-billing for “taxes and fees”. I have previously stayed at this Hotel, but due to this experience, will avoid this business in the future.

My mom and I visited for a breakfast at Nix Restaurant at Millennium Hotel on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The buffet was DELICIOUS, and the staff was amazingly kind. I accidentally spilled water on the table, but they made me feel so comfortable, and cleaned up right away, and said "please don't way, all is good". Shout out to incredible staff there, Alex, Alberto, Frano, and Rojas, and everyone who serve with kindness and generous spirit. Oh, and for all-you-can-eat buffet, the price was so seasonable, and we will be back. I'd recommend this place to anyone!! 10/10! -Jane
It is centrally located for the places I visited. The room was comfortable and quiet.
The hotel is centrally located in Streeterville and close to the beach and other popular sites.
Nearly every facet of the property was just terrible. The room was small, outdated, hot and filthy. There are noticeable signs of wear and tear everywhere. The hallways reeked of marijuana. The hotel was entirely unresponsive to repeated requests for assistance. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
I liked how they lock the doors after a certain hour.
Check in
All of the staff were friendly and willing to help however it was needed.
We were especially grateful for being able to check in early - we can't express in words how much that made a difference. Thank you so much to the lovely front desk woman who helped us check in early so we could catch some sleep after a long several hours of travel.
Can't think of anything we didn't like
Location.
The bell hop person was rude. When ask for a luggage cart he declined and advised “they don’t do that there” 🙃. Went for martinis at the martinis bar and bartender was standoffish and rude to my guest and I who are melanated. However, a pink man sat down and he immediately “while I’m talking with him” attended to the pink/caucasian man. I told him although this hotel will be 100 yrs old next year…we melanated folks would not have been at this bar…however, it is 2026 and nothing has changed.
