It is interesting that the official rating for this hotel is 4 Star. It seems to me to have all the attributes to achieve 5 stars, pool, restaurant, fast food and shop, concierge, business facilities and more. We used the pool each morning before breakfast, and was ‘fresh’ as the sun didn’t catch it early, but the beast start to the day. For us this was the start of a USA mini road trip, including 4 nights with 4 July here. The hotel was faultless. We booked a high floor room, and I am not certain if the room had anything more than lower floors. In any case it was spacious with different seating and work (if you’re here for work) areas in it. Decor might be described as Business Smart, but really comfortable and practical. The bed was the MOST comfortable we think we have had in a hotel, and air conditioning worked well and was quiet. Bathroom great, and although I generally don’t like a shower over bath, this was easy to use with a great glass screen so happy with that. All staff were great, nice and helpful to a person bar and lounge area relaxed. Restaurant was really good, maybe for another review. Staff at reception were cheerful and helpful, and happy to give us our complimentary drink voucher each day. This is part of the resort fee, and made this US unusual fee seem reasonable to us. We didn’t have chance for the free bay boat trip or bikes, we had a busy fun schedule already booked. The location is ideal in SD, naturally for Gaslamp but also for our 4 July walk down the hill to join the USS Midway party. Made for a perfect first 4 nights of 14 over there from England, do stay here it’s great!

It's very convenient for everything allowing us to walk to the baseball game and several good restaurants. The Gas Lamp district is a vibe I highly recommend. My only complaint is we weren't able to stay longer.

Our family had a truly fantastic stay at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter. The location is perfect for exploring San Diego, and our room was clean, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to relax after a full day of activities.

We opted for the Visitor Plan, which added excellent value to our stay. It included several great perks, such as a complimentary harbor cruise, free drinks, premium internet access, and other amenities that enhanced our overall experience.

What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the outstanding level of service. Our son suffered a sports injury just hours before our trip, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well cared for.

Victor, the bellman, was incredibly kind and attentive. After helping us with our luggage, he brought ice for our son’s injury and continued checking in on us throughout our stay. Marianna at breakfast made a special effort to find chocolate milk for our son when the restaurant’s machine wasn’t working, which meant so much to him and our family. Suzanne, at the concierge desk, was especially exceptional. She provided thoughtful advice and practical accommodations for traveling with an injured teen, not only during our stay in San Diego but also for our upcoming visit to Disneyland and the national parks.

We are deeply grateful for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown by the entire team. Their genuine care made a meaningful difference in our experience and turned what could have been a stressful trip into a memorable one.

We would gladly stay at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Diego. Thank you for having such an outstanding team that truly goes above and beyond for its guests.

Excelente localização

Loved he room. It was spacious well, decorated and looked very elegant. This review is for the beginning of my state, my agent. Brianna was simply delightful. She went out of her way to make sure that I satisfied with what I was getting and to explain the difference between the rooms. Her personality made me feel right at home. And by thetime I left the check-in desk, I felt like I had a new friend who genuinely cared about every guest. I think Brianna should get a raise!

I’ve stayed at The Westin Gaslamp in San Diego many times, and it continues to be one of my favorite places to stay. The service is fantastic, and Daisy, the hotel manager, really stands out. She is extremely helpful, patient, kind, and goes above and beyond to make sure guests are taken care of.

The entire staff is top-notch, the hotel is always clean, comfortable, and ready for guests. Breakfast is good, dinner has a nice menu, bar has a good vibe, and the little coffee shop is a great bonus.

The location is perfect, easy to get to, close to the water, close to Little Italy, and great for families. It also feels affordable, especially with the destination fee perks, which add real value.

Overall, great service, great location, and always a great experience. I definitely plan to keep coming back.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Westin Gaslamp. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They greeted us warmly and even had treats waiting for our two small dogs. To make our pets feel just as comfortable as we were, they sent one of their Heavenly Dog Beds to our room. It was such a thoughtful touch, and everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy to see and interact with our dogs.
What impressed me most was the exceptional service after our stay. I accidentally left my charger in the room after checkout and contacted the hotel to see if it could be returned. Tyler Brandt was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating throughout the entire process. As a senior citizen, I don't always find online payment systems easy to navigate, but Tyler never made me feel rushed or frustrated. He stayed with me and walked me through each step until I was able to complete the payment for shipping my charger back.
It's rare to find a hotel where every interaction leaves such a positive impression. The genuine warmth, patience, and willingness of the staff to help made our stay truly memorable. I highly recommend the Westin Gaslamp and look forward to staying there again.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful whenever we had a question or needed any assistance.

Kayl was awesome she accommodated us and was very helpful and a great human being.

From the second you get out of your car and are greeted bay valet you can tell this place is special. The bell hop did not miss a beat getting our stuff out of the truck before we noticed he started. The destination fee un locked free drinks, kayak rides a family boat tour of the harbor and more for only 25 bucks a day. The concierge knew all there was to k ow about the area. The most amazing part of the hotel stay for my family was the impeccable work ethic of Brianna at the front desk. Her infectious smile and undeniable desire to help ensure our stay was perfect was unmatched. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We will definitely be back this year for a show at the Balboa theater only a few hundred feet from hotel.
