Conveniently placed for what we wanted to do
We were meant to check in at 4pm. By 6.30pm we had a room, but not the one we had booked, a downgrade with 100 dollars off. Not really good enough. And room wasn’t cleaned so spent 4 days with a full bin
Love the hotel and location

Wanted to edit my review, but had to start over, so here goes. I will break this up into 4 sections.
1. Check-in was smooth as always, took them about 3 minutes, and was done. I even got an upgrade, nice, but I didn't see any difference in the room.
2. Happy hour at the tavern- Service was great, no real issues until the end- I'll come back.
Basic bar food - was just that, no real flavor on the wings, and they were lukewarm.
Martini was very good!
Now, issue: I felt rushed; she gave me my check before I was even finished. How did you know if I wanted something else? I called her out on this; she left me alone until I was finished. Now, I hate to pull a race card, but the table behind me didn't get their bill and was here before I did.
3. As I stated before, it was supposed to be an upgrade, and it felt like the other 2/3 times I've stayed there. I have to use 2 pillows because they are just too flat for me.
4. The Tavern for breakfast- I ordered the 2 eggs with cheddar cheese, 1 meat, home potatoes, and bread. Too much cheese in my eggs, and 1 of my bacon slices was overdone, nearly burnt. The lady who sat me was the star; she made sure I was straight the entire time. The gentlman that was my waiter, he was the only one and had a few larger tables. I get it. However, he did the same thing, bought my check before I was done. Difference, he said, not rushing you, just going to leave it.
This time, I did notice a few had their checks, but many tables didn't. Is this a new practice? I have never gotten my check before I was done, how do you know I don't want other things? Just made me feel profiled.
This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Omni in Richmond VA, it will be the last.
We checked in Sunday, assigned a room on the 5th floor. Right off, I noticed that only one of 4 elevators is working. We wait and wait for the elevator to finally arrive, only to have to race to keep the door from closing on us.
But this is nothing compared to the poop stain I found on the sheet two days after checking in. Clearly there was no supervision of the cleaning staff. How does one not notice a poop stain when making a bed?
I reported it, they changed the bedding and apologized. That’s not good enough. The staff put our health at risk by failing to change the sheets after the previous guests.
The fact that only one elevator is working, along with dirty sheets, tells me the manager at this hotel is only interested in profit, not the health and welfare of the guests. Both my wife and I have disabilities that make standing for long periods of time difficult.
We will be staying at a competitor hotel in the future, you should too.
The bed was very comfortable. Great location, convenient to the convention center. Wonderful restaurant.
NA
The room size is decent, the bed is comfortable. Also the shower has very good pressure.
Room service was not good. They did not provide essential stuff like shampoo, body wash, coffee, milk and even cups. also the cleaning wasn't great. Reception staff that I interacted with were so un helpful and made me feel that either they hated their job or they just did not want to serve.
I had to book this last minute due to my other arrangements being cancelled and was good value being last minute
My safe was locked when I arrived therefore I couldn’t use it. The bath drainage was terrible, I had to hold open the plug for the water to drain. Water pressure wasn’t amazing either. No complimentary water provided in the rooms which I’ve had everywhere else I’ve stayed. The hotel is advertised as having free wifi however they tried to charge me, I argued that wasn’t what it was advertised as and I had to sign up to Omni to get a membership number in order to get free wifi? Didn’t realise this was a thing anymore. The women staff were quite rude and pretentious, turned their nose down at me. This hotel is great for business interviews staying for work or conferences however if you’re in Richmond for vacation the location is terrible and is 30+ min walk to get to anything exciting or all the good restaurants
The hotel rooms themselves are well insulated. Our room was nice and quiet. It was wonderful! We had a view of the city which was great!
There was an indoor swimming pool, but there was no hot tub. It was the one thing I was hopeful for. I will say that the property does not list one so I shouldn't have expected one.
