Our stay at Sheraton Fort Worth Downtown Hotel was extremely underwhelming, especially given that we were there for a special event hosted by the hotel.
The buffet served at the event was frankly inedible—rubbery chicken, tough beef, and burnt potato wedges. It set the tone for the rest of the experience.
The room itself was an adequate size, but the windows were so filthy you couldn’t see outside. This became especially frustrating during a severe weather alert in the middle of the night—we could hear hail but had no visibility to even tell what was happening outside.
Housekeeping was completely nonexistent. Our room was never serviced—no made beds, no fresh towels, nothing. There wasn’t even a door tag to request service.
Basic amenities and information were also lacking. There were no menus, no literature about things to do in Fort Worth, and no guidance for guests at all. The bathroom didn’t have accessible outlets for styling tools, and while there were plugs near the table, there was no mirror nearby—so getting ready meant doing your hair blindly unless you brought your own mirror.
The location is good, but that’s about the only positive. Overall, this hotel fell far short, and we won’t be staying here again.
Bathroom lighting was great.
I couldn't watch all the channels. I wanted to watch Golden Girls but the channel didn't work until the night before I was to leave.
We stayed 3 nights at the Sheraton.
Upon check in we were upgraded to a suite with a king bed. We originally booked a room with 2 queen beds. There was a high school science conference going on, so I think the upgrade was due to the lack of rooms with 2 beds. The lobby was mass chaos, but the front desk did a great job handling it all.
The room they gave us was spacious with a tiny couch in the sitting area as well as a bar area that had a cabinet with a mini fridge and a microwave. The bathroom has the sliding barn door with frosted glass. The bed was comfortable and they provide robes in the room, which was a nice touch.
We had access to the lounge on the 10th floor, which provides small snacks around 5:00 as well as a breakfast in the morning. We went to the lounge the first evening. They had small empanadas as well as mini spring rolls. They also have waters, soda and coffee/tea available.
We talked a while with Priscilla who was working in the lounge. She was so friendly and sweet!
We had breakfast the following morning in the lounge. It was just ok. They only provided small plates, so we had to have several plates to accommodate our food. It was also freezing in there. I grabbed a juice from the refrigerator and it was expired by a few weeks. I kindly told the 2 ladies working the lounge that morning (April 10th in the morning) about the expired juice to tell them in case they wanted to check the rest of that kind of juice to make sure it wasn’t expired, and the 2 ladies just stared at me with a blank face and said nothing. This was NOT a language barrier, they just didn’t want to be bothered and seemed annoyed that I even spoke to them. They looked me up and down like I was doing something wrong. It was bizarre. We then walked out and another gentleman in the hallway exclaimed how rude the ladies were to us, and how they were rude to him too. It was strange.
Besides that, the rest of our stay was seamless and fantastic! The customer service from everyone at the front desk was wonderful and everyone was so friendly! We ate at the restaurant for breakfast the last 2 days, and everyone was so lovely there too! Super kind and outgoing.
Also, the staff working the valet are also wonderful too. They are so polite and always making sure the car is brought up promptly. Each person was so great!
I will also say that the hotel was very clean. The last day we were there, a man was on his hands and knees scrubbing the baseboards in the lobby. We only had maid service once, because the second morning we were there, that huge student conference checked out. We came back to our room at 5:15 pm and our room still wasn’t cleaned. We just grabbed some fresh towels and gave them our dirty ones. After seeing the messes that the students left in the other rooms, we gave the housekeeping some grace and told them they could skip our room so we could rest for a bit. They seem relieved!
All in all, I would recommend this hotel. The customer service is excellent (besides that random incident with the ladies in the lounge that one morning). Everyone else there is so lovely! It’s an older hotel, but they keep it really nice. We will be returning!
Man it was really good the girl gave us what we need
Great location, friendly staff. Access to the buses outside the hotel was great for exploring downtown and the stockyard.
Rooms were clean and restaurant was delicious with a great selection for Gluten free.
Pool was indoor.
Makaila was awesome and treated me like a king.
The valets were great and super helpful. Really appreciated the good customer service.
Parking was excellent with Valet, smooth check in and transition.
nothing
When I was first dropped off at the Sheraton late at night, I was a bit concerned as it was definitely away from the busy downtown. A lot of construction around the blocks of the hotel and the convention center separates it from the more trendy area. It isn’t a bad walk though.
I was in Fort Worth for two days of business meetings at the hotel, and the facilities were great. A good bar, a Starbuck’s, a nice room with good amenities and a front desk staff that was simply outstanding. I wish I had her name but the afternoon front desk clerk was so sweet…gave me free snacks and arranged a taxi service for me as soon as she knew I’d be needing a ride to the airport.
The hotel is clean, friendly staff, good amenities, a decent walk to restaurants but certainly do-able.
Stayed here two nights for a work trip. Very clean, high calibre hotel and in a good location. The Orange Line bus picks up and drops off just outside and takes you to The Stockyards for $2. Overall, a great option.
Ahmed was amazing! Being from a service based town, he provided excellent service. We felt like we were at a home away from home. He is so hard working, personal, and needs a promotion!
Great valet experience! The valet team was friendly and super quick, and the valet manager, Sneh, was amazing. He assisted me with all of my luggage and made sure everything was taken care of from start to finish. He was welcoming, professional, and truly went above and beyond!!
Big thank you to Sneh for the exceptional service!
