Meliá Paris Vendôme

Best location for shopping.

I’m not sure how this hotel is rated as high as it was! The MOLD all over our room was disgusting! The smell throughout the hotel and especially in our room was HORRIBLE, and NO A/C. They had a fan running in our room for the 72 hrs we were there! I wouldn’t dare walk barefoot on the floors! There was water bubbles all over the walls throughout the building and water lines coming down the walls as well! I would NEVER suggest anyone stay here! The only thing they have good going for them is location and Emilio, he was an amazing employee and so hard working!

Excelente hotel. Muito bem localizado. Em frente a rue de Rivoli, Place de la Concorde e estação do metro. Quarto muito limpo. Staff muito gentil e atencioso. Excelente café da manhã. Recomendo muito.

Bad experience ! We are robbed inside the room . The staff opened our safe and took money and a piece of jewelry.

Upon checking in we noticed it was a little warm in the lobby. We asked about it and they told us the technician is working on it and it will improve. We were put on the 5th floor. Upon exiting the elevator we felt this rush of heat hit us. We went into the room and it was also warm. We called immediately and they told us that it will improve and will send a technician to our room to check it out. A technician never came. We took a cold shower and tried to fall asleep as we had been traveling all day. In the morning we asked for a lower level room or if they can put us in another one of their local hotels and they said that they would look into it while we were out into town. They had a good breakfast and the cook truly cares about the food. They had a portable AC in the dining room and that gave us some relief. I can get past the tiny shower that if you bend over you pop open the door since that’s what’s to be expected from a boutique hotel. The view from my window was a Beautiful street and building but I couldn’t even leave it open due to the heat. Upon our return they said that they placed fans in our rooms and that a technician is working on it and it would improve. It did not. I pleaded with them to please move us since our son is developing a heat rash. They refused to offer us any other options other than keep your curtains closed, lights off and use the fan. Upon the third day of this we asked for a partial refund and Maxime the hotel manager refused. I asked him to come up to the room so he can feel what we had been feeling and he smiled and said I will not do that and that there is nothing he can do he handed me a business card and said we can write to request a refund. This was most likely to send me away. I addressed his lack of empathy and leadership as he had his staff lie to us about the air conditioner getting fixed. I asked him once more to come feel our room and to tell me what I should have done differently to prevent my child from developing a heat rash due to their hot rooms and he said, there’s nothing I can do and thank you for visiting the Melia Vendome. I walked away because his poor customer service skills were not going to serve me or my family. DO NOT stay at the Melia Vendome.

Location was great! Our room had a very strong stench of and visible black mold. Pretty bare bones room, not very effective air conditioning.

The air conditioning was unable to keep the rooms comfortable. Our room stayed between 79–81°F the entire stay. While we were in the lobby, multiple families were asking the staff to help them find other hotels, and some were checking out early because the rooms were simply too hot. Even at 4:00 a.m., with outside temperatures around 71°F, the rooms never cooled down. We stayed for three days they offered us a fan and they kept telling me it was going get better and never did. We asked to move down stairs since the higher the floor you go it was hotter and they would not accommodate us because they had more people checking in that day. They have various sister hotels in Paris, we asked to be moved to one that has working AC and they refused. Very disappointing experience.

We stayed for a week at the hotel at the very beginning of June. I cannot say enough about the service and the friendliness of hotel. From the moment we walked in we were treated more like family than customers. Anything we asked whether it’d be directions or things like ice they were given to us.

The breakfast in the morning is fabulous as is the wait staff. One of my favorite things was to come down for breakfast and have a specialty coffee and a delicious baked item. We went to the bar a few times once to eat and two times for a drink and we enjoyed it immensely.

The location of the property is great. We were able to pick up the metro and or the train and visit places like Disney Paris, , and all the local sightseeing spots.
There are also some of the nicest restaurants just around the corner that were recommended to me by the reception staff. I would recommend this hotel largely because of the warmth and friendliness.

This was my worst experience in Europe, I don’t understand how people rate this hotel 4 star. The hotel is worst than a motel. When you pass lobby the smell of the mold is so strong. The carpets are so dirty and the rooms and hall way stinks. There is no ice machine and they don’t deliver ice. The kettle didn’t work and they brought me hot water but it wasn’t even hot. I get that the location is good but for I wouldn’t recommend to stay for free let alone for $500 weeks paid for the night. It was a total disappointment

I travelled with my 10 year old daughter on a mummy & me trip to Paris
On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely staff and given a lovely twin room on 5th floor which was very clean and spacious, perfect for our needs. Rituals products in the bathroom was a nice touch.
The hotel is full of charm not the most modern but full of character which added to our experience
We felt very safe in this area which was a big priority, the location is perfect close to the metro only a few mins walk, Galleries Lafayette for the Jellycat Patisserie around 10 mins walk
Ferdi - Kim Kardashian’s favourite burger in Paris only around the corner, we did not try it but next time!
I’m a travel agent and already recommended this hotel to many people and have rebooked for us to return next year.
Thank you to Rafa on reception such a kind young man, but all these staff were amazing and friendly, we look forward to our next visit!
