Would stay again and recommend to others.
Pros:

Check-in and check-out went super fast and staff very friendly. Room was good sized and very clean (bathroom was spotless)! I was concerned about street noise as I was on the 1st floor, Barrington side but did not hear a peep, not even Friday morning rush hour! Very impressed!

Cons:

Not really a complaint BUT the TV... The "guide" did not match the channels and there wasn't much selection. I know people don't go to a hotel to watch TV but after a long day out, it's nice to relax and unwind so unless you brought a laptop for streaming, you're stuck! Also, although it worked well, the air conditioning unit appears to be very old and did not really get as cool as I like but that's just my preference!

Pros:

The beds.

Cons:

No air conditioner, horrible signage to find through the pedway from parking. Also if you try to leave earlier than 930 in the morning the pedway is locked and you can’t actually go that way so you need to walk out around the city.

Ideal spot for exploring Halifax
Pros:

I had a great stay at The Barrington Hotel. The location is perfect for walking to the waterfront. I was very grateful that an early check-in was possible upon arrival. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Pet (un)friendly with lack of potty space, but the room was okay.
Pros:

The beds were comfortable and the room itself was spacious. The a/c worked well. Check-in was easy. Ice machines were easy to find.

Cons:

Pet friendly hotel - nowhere for pets to potty. There's a courtyard in the middle of the building that they could be easily converted into a little space for dogs to go out. Even if they put a surveillance system to make sure owners cleaned up after they pottied. The elevators were extremely slow. The pool was hard to find. The tub was slippery and no anti-slip mat was provided.
