Our stay at the AC Hotel El Segundo/South Bay was absolutely amazing! The location is perfect, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and breakfast spots all within easy walking distance. The hotel itself has a modern, welcoming atmosphere and is super super clean.
While the hotel is gorgeous, what truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. From the moment we checked in, Melanie and Caitlin made us feel genuinely welcome. They were personable and incredibly knowledgeable about the area, offering great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. What impressed us most was that after we returned from a short walk, they greeted us by name and remembered us. It is those personal touches that make all the difference.
Since we were celebrating my friend’s birthday, we stopped by the beautiful rooftop bar before heading out for the evening. The entire staff there was just as friendly and welcoming. Our server, Daniel, was exceptional! He took the time to chat with us, made the birthday celebration special, and gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants.
When we returned later that night, the exceptional service continued. Even the valet attendant, despite the fact that we had not even used valet parking, greeted us warmly and welcomed us back. Melanie and Caitlin were once again at the front desk with smiles, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number.
The outstanding customer service continued the following morning, and by the time we checked out, we knew we’d found a hotel we will happily return to again and again.
For anyone who says that great customer service is a thing of the past, they clearly have not boikex a stay at the AC Hotel El Segundo/South Bay. Every employee we encountered genuinely cared about creating a memorable guest experience. This was one of the best hotel stays we have had, and we can’t wait to come back!
Giovanni F and Jacob C were absolutely fantastic!!!! The process was extremely smooth, and everyone was very, very friendly and personable, and they assisted with our luggage and baggage with great care!
Hotel is great and park service is excellent. We use this place for hotel and long term parking. Caesar and Ivan are awesome.
We didn't actually stay in the hotel- only used there parking shuttle service to LAX. JT and Gio were so friendly and helpful. We were picked up at the airport in the right location and by the time we got to the hotel our car was already waiting downstairs. I know that doesn't happen all the time but after a long traveling day, it was a great way to end the trip.
If you’re under 40 with a group of your “bro”friends, a business traveler (though you’ll feel out of place with all the people half your age), or simply trying to save some money with your significant other on a budget, this is your place. Expecting anything more — which the hotel attempts to make you believe it can deliver — is a futile effort.
Clean, nice enough, and in a good location near LAX in a safe area. The best feature is the garden area out back with honeysuckle. A great spot to catch some ball games as well (but the bar closes way too early).
The front desk could use some serious hospitality training. Outside of a couple of standouts whose names escape me at the moment, the experience felt less like a hotel and more like asking my teenage son to man the front desk and help me.
Come to the AC often to park my vehicle for longterm parking. Jonathan G always welcomes us in and takes great care of me and my family. Great service and super affordable.
Their listing on the Marriott site lied about having a pool.
They provided a keycard to the Hyatt place pool next door, but it requires exiting through the lobby, then through the parking lot, then into the hyatt, then out the back. I don't really feel comfortable walking in wet swim trunks through that maze. Also the Hyatt keycard they gave me didn't actually work. So came back to the AC hotel lobby. New person at front desk said actually I have to go to the hyatts front desk and ask them for a keycard.
If it's already a crappy experience maybe get your facts straight.
Whomever at corporate thought they should list this property as having a pool should be fired.
They had great customer service pulled my car up in a timely manner answered all my questions very friendly.
Absolutely greattt service. Thank you Jonathan G. Helped us coming into Hotel and leaving. Great host Jonathan G.
Overall, the AC Hotel is fine, but a few issues would give me pause before staying there again.
The Good: The hotel, rooms, and bathrooms were clean. I appreciated the privacy and service buttons by the door, especially since many other chains won’t refresh rooms daily without a request to the front desk. The bed was comfortable, and the mini-fridge was ice-cold (though there is no microwave). The location is also excellent—walking distance to several restaurants and the LA Metro. While the rooftop was nice, it is frequently rented out for private events, which often leaves half of it closed off. You’re actually better off downstairs in the AC Lounge; it’s much quieter and offers more space.
The Bad: Parking. You have a choice between valet or self-parking. I chose to self-park, which meant being relegated to the 5th floor of the adjacent parking deck. I didn't mind the walk, but the gate was broken. At check-in, I was told to use my room key to enter and exit, but the gate failed to recognize it. After returning to the front desk, I was told that the gate "sometimes fails" and that I should just take a ticket and hit the call button for the desk to buzz me out. That worked for one day—until they changed the rules without informing guests. A cheap note taped to the gate suddenly stated that tickets had to be validated prior to exiting, which isn't helpful when you're already at the gate. On my final morning, I tried to get my ticket validated at 5:00 AM but was told again to just "hit the help button." I ended up sitting at the gate for five minutes before having to call the front desk to be let out. At $40 a night for parking, that level of frustration is unacceptable.
