Location, staff, and lobby was gorgeous. Room was a little dark- small windows that face an internal courtyard / overlook the pool, so not much of a view. The hotel was under construction while we were there (May 30, 2026) so a large portion of the hotel was inaccessible. Pool is very small - not for swimming, just for dipping. Breakfast was ok - more continental - cold cuts and cheeses, plus eggs and bacon but the breads were a bit stale and not much in the way of fresh fruit. Staff were WONDERFUL though.

the stay was most enjoyable. All Persons in the bar were welcoming and obliging. Concierge was excellent.

Renovations were awful. Jackhammer all day. Could not come back to the hotel for a rest in the afternoon
Good location and lovely building / lobby
Renovations taking place that we weren’t informed of prior to arriving. Staircase (one of its more prominent features) out of commission. Roof top plunge pool was closed (and whole balcony) despite it being advertised as a feature open April-October in several places (including their in-room info section). Room wasn’t ready in time for check in despite us arriving early to leave bags and being told we’d be called when it was ready. No call and no room until nearly an hour after stated check in. Moved to a room that felt downgraded compared to online images. Bath plug didn’t work, shower gel plunger didn’t work, bed was two joined with a mattress topper that moved around and wasn’t particularly comfortable. All in all I’d save the money and book somewhere else next time.

Lovely Hotel right in the centre of town. Walking distance to everything. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. We loved the cocktail bar, amazing Cocktails! Our premium room was nice, lovely bedding and comfy bed. Big walk in shower but does need a few bits repairing and updating . Well worth doing one of the days excursions trips to the valley but be prepared for a long day.
We were disappointed that the pool and roof top area was closed due to renovation and we were not notified in advance. The hotel renovations are quite noisy so worth checking progress before you book. This is the only reason I haven’t given a full star rating. The manager was understanding however, and offered us some extras to compensate. Would definitely return as Porto is well worth a visit!
