The look of the property from the outside when you drive up. Stunning castle. Small walls around the grounds. Dog friendly if you want a furry friend with you. Bar and restaurant good. Breakfast good value. Definitely be back.
Nothing walkable. Need to drive if wanting a shop or go into town. Didn’t really bother us though.

Some lack of cleanliness of surfaces. Mould on window frame. No welcome info re hotel or local area in the bedroom

Zimmergröße, Betten, Kopfkissen, Schwimmbad und Sauna waren super
- Beautiful historic building and attractive grounds.
- Helpful staff with arranging a taxi and preparing a lunch box.
- Plenty of towels.
- Good yoghurt and fruit at breakfast.
- My room was in the basement and had poor ventilation, especially in the bathroom.
- The window could only be opened by approximately 3 cm. Combined with the very poor bathroom ventilation and the lack of air conditioning, this made it extremely difficult to air the room properly. The air felt stale and not fresh.
- Both the shower and sink drains were slow and appeared to require servicing.
- I noticed a cobweb and considerable dust behind the bedside lamps.
- The carpet was particularly dirty and old.
- After I reported the problems, the room was cleaned more thoroughly the following day, which I appreciated, but the maintenance issues remained.
- I was unable to change rooms. I understand the hotel may have been fully booked, but given the number of issues, I had hoped for a more proactive solution.
Beautiful original building at front of hotel
The spa is open to public for swimming lessons so couldn't enjoy spa. Breakfast buffet set up does not work. At one point 9 people were standing waiting on x1 toaster right in the corner. Logistics of buffee set up don't work when it's busy.
Food was mediocre for such a beautiful hotel. Expected more. Frozen fish was not nice. Onion rings very over cooked.
Bed was very firm.
Pool full of swimming classes. Spa hotel should advertise they hold children's swimming lessons
Receptionist in black shawl blunt and should not be on front of the house. The others knew how to treat paying customers. So friendly. She was very up herself and snooty. Not nice to be this way with guests. She needs to work in office or change her attitude. Totally unapproachable and not helpful. Bar staff were excellent as were the very young waitors. Exceptional manners and so helpful. Lovely staff. Shame about little miss snoby pants.
Excellent as always
Room was great, the Pool and steam room and sauna were great, Breakfast was amazing. as was the evening meal. hotel is nice. it is in a great area just outside the city in a great setting and it was perfect for what we needed, it was a shame we could only book for one night as we would have loved to stay longer.
Remote control in room was missing reception gave us another one, which did not work. had to get another one which worked.
Exactly as described room was lovely and everything you need. Breakfast was good
