Amazing service! I want to give a big shoutout to the host Serena. Excellent customer service, she made us feel welcomed and explained the menu with patience. The food came quick and it was delicious, my husband and I will definitely be returning. Thank you Serena!

Very good food and drinks, I got the wings and flatbread. The setting was lively and very welcoming. The service was also great, the host Serenah was very accommodating.

I came here for the first time with my friend last week for my birthday and overall it was a really nice experience. The space is beautiful and has a great vibe, definitely a chill spot to hang out. We weren't super hungry so we just got tacos and the cauliflower, and both were really good. Service was great and everything came out pretty quick. Thank you Rosa, Serena, and Miguel for making my birthday experience memorable.

Can't rave enough about the service, everyone from check in, housekeeping, waiters, bartenders, management... all of it was five star plus! I can't wait to come back. I took my mom here before she was flying back to Europe as I wanted us to have an amazing experience and memory to share. We went for dinner at Doubletake and had the best time. Our waiter Serena was truly a ray of sunshine and took such good care of us.

The Kimpton is a great place to stay. Very comfortable, friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere. I always feel like I’m coming home when I visit. The employees truly go above and beyond. In particular, Miguel, Nick, and Mathew make the restaurant a welcome place to spend the evening. Whether you are the only patron or in a crowded room you are never overlooked. Truly a great place to visit. Reminds me of Cheers.

The Kimpton Palomar is a lovely hotel. I especially had a great time at the Double Take restaurant. The bartenders Nick, Matthew, and Miguel were incredible, very personable and professional. I had the Crying Tiger Steak, which was excellent as well. I will definitely be back!

I’ve eaten at plenty of restaurants where the food was great, but a week later I couldn’t tell you much about the experience. Double Take was different. While the menu definitely impressed us, what has stayed with me most is how welcomed we felt from the moment we walked in.

The atmosphere strikes a balance that’s surprisingly hard to find. It feels stylish without trying too hard, lively without being loud and comfortable enough that you don’t feel rushed to finish your meal and leave. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy good conversation, and lose track of time.

The biggest reason our evening stood out was the incredible service from Matthew D. and Nischal. They have a natural way of making guests feel comfortable that can’t really be taught. They were attentive without hovering, offered thoughtful recommendations and seemed to genuinely care that everyone was having a great experience. Every interaction felt sincere rather than rehearsed, and that personal touch made all the difference.

It’s easy to find a restaurant with good food. It’s much harder to find one where the hospitality is just as memorable as the meal. Matthew D. and Nischal created the kind of experience that makes you want to come back, not because you have to, but because you actually want to.

We’ll definitely be returning, and next time we’ll probably plan to stay a little longer. Double Take has earned a spot on our list of places we’ll happily recommend to friends and family

They strike the perfect balance between being attentive and letting you enjoy your evening. By our second visit, they remembered our preferences, made thoughtful recommendations, and created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that felt more like visiting a favorite neighborhood spot than a hotel restaurant. Their genuine conversations, attention to detail, and passion for what they do elevated every meal and drink we had.

Great food and cocktails are important, but it’s the people who create memorable experiences. Nischal and Matthew are the heart of the restaurant, and they turned what could have been a standard hotel dining experience into one of the highlights of our trip. We can’t wait to come back and see them again. 5 stars!

It is well worth a stay. The grounds were well kept. The property was well maintained. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room service was excellent, Serena made great recommendations for food. The view from our room was fantastic. I would love to come back.

Another Kimpton Winner! We have stayed at many Kimpton properties, including this one in the past, and we have had the great good fortune of positive experiences every time. The Kimpton Hotel Palomar on Wilshire Blvd is located very nearby UCLA. The parking attendants, bellhops, and front desk people are all courteous, professional, and available. The lobby area looks good and smells good, and they have flavored water available in large containers. The decor is sophisticated and also fun with the nod to Hollywood's movie industry. At night, our room was quiet and dark, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom door did not make noise, and the shower had very good temperature control and water pressure. The room was very clean, and towels were fresh and soft. Prices are on the high side. It's Los Angeles. The room had everything we could hope for in a hotel room, and we would absolutely stay here again.
