Room decoration needed a better finish. Paint work scuffs, furniture a little tired. Lacked homely feel in lounge area of room. Toilet seat stained. Staff and food excellent.
Food was brilliant, location is perfect if you enjoy the Peak District. Staff were good and always helpful and listened. Rooms were clean and Atmosphere was relaxing. We stayed four nights and found menu repeating, but staff will mix and mash up what ever you want if you ask. Noise level not and issue, pool was cool and spa was very hot.
Overall, I would go again in a heartbeat and still think about the setting and countryside around this place. Outside needs a little TLC but so do most places i@ve stayed. I only leave honest reviews and expect previous visitors to do the same, recommend this hotel to anyone wanting good food, accomodation, setting and a relaxing break. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable.
Poor and slow bar service, poor housekeeping, no info at check in, spa sessions even through pre booked were too busy and couldn’t use facilities. Fine dining restaurant with slow service with a hotel that isn’t 4 star. Grotty carpets, hallways and sub standard service. Feedback given but was told it’s busy with large parties; crazy as it was £1k for 2 night stay, don’t they care? Rooms with this cost you would expect a fridge and a coffee machine,
We has a fabulous time at Losehill, the staff were so helpful and friendly, the food was excellent and the rooms and spa lovely. Thank you all so much
The Hotel is lovely set in a peaceful and stunning location. We were celebrating a Wedding Anniversary with our Family and we cannot really add to the other 5 star reviews as they are just as we experienced too. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and we thank everyone who made our stay so special and memorable.
A lovely place to stay in a glorious location. Excellent food and service throughout our stay. Highly recommended.
Very disappointing stay given the price we payed. They put us in room 5 above kitchen, which we didn’t know until they were still clattering and crashing at 12:15 then woke us again with radio blaring out at 5-30. They did move us second night and got 50%off. But we did pay 250 per night ! Breakfast excellent staff friendly, rooms in need of update. Pool is nice but this is not a spa. It has an awful outside shed sauna and horrid hot tub. All in all a very disappointing and expensive stay. I would not go back or recommend to anyone
Almost everything except view, staff and breakfast
Nice to use the pool and sauna
we were booked to have double full massage when we arrived after hiking for a number of days. However they only had 1 staff available so we had to have separate 30 min back massages. These were excellent however.
The room could have been a bit bigger.
We stayed here for three nights, including breakfast and dinner. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The property has beautiful views. The food is good but a bit fussy. The service was very responsive. We were there during one of the summer heat waves, and our room on the top floor was hot. We had to ask for a fan, got a broken one, and eventually one that worked. While I understand heatwaves are new to the UK, providing a fan is not that hard. We were kept up the first night because of restaurant guests talking loudly beneath our window. Being on the third floor with no fan, we needed the window open. The management can't control lingeirng dinner guests voices, but it was unfortunate for us. The spa is lovely. We would go back again even with these couple of hiccups.
Very cosey and hidden away in the area with nice views

Excellent staff give this hotel an edge. Every single member from the cleaners, restaurant and bar staff, to reception were simply fantastic. Special shout out to Margo on reception who amongst other things was happy to transfer our room due to drains problem (we didn't as only one more night and it was too much hassle...). Food excellent. Rooms immaculately clean. Setting very peaceful.
Losehill House came highly recommended by friends and almost lived up to expectations. the amenities were exceptional, setting superb, food of highest quality and service from all staff friendly, engaging and professional. Our only disappointment was Room 6. 'just' a standard double but in a 5star establishment, at 5star prices, a let down.
All the expected facilities, but 'compact' would be polite. A side window view of the veg. garden and beyond. Rust along the bottom of the bathroom radiator, dirt in all the window fittings, discoloured seal along the bottom of the bath panel and no hooks for bath robes or coats.
Such a shame as everything else was lovely.
Property was in a beautiful location and well cared for
This is a wonderful hotel and the staff were so helpful.
I use a wheelchair and the facilities were great for this. Everything about the place (the staff, the food etc) was fantastic.
I get tired in the evenings so we were on our way to our room without finishing our dinner when one of the waiters caught us and suggested they would bring our dessert up to our room.
Staff, location, food, atmosphere. The food exceeded my expectation
Room was dusty
We've been coming for years and fine Losehill always welcoming, informal and relaxing. The food is top-notch.
Lovely big room, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings.
No air con or large fan in room, no fridge in the room, not suitable for people who struggle with steps ( very up and down), no sun lounges, spa very small and basic food options for residents were limited to sandwiches and the food was extremely expensive.
Fantastic hotel and food in a peaceful location. Would highly recommend the hotel and will be staying again. Quality of food was fantastic on the evening meal; we will go for the tasting menu next time!
Losehill House is a delightful welcoming Hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were very pleasant. The breakfast menu is very comprehensive and is beautifully cooked and presented. The evening meals were varied, well prepared and of a very high culinary standard. There was, however, no change in the menu during our three day stay. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Overall a very nice holiday break.
We had a lovely 4 day break at this hotel, beautiful surroundings, wonderful staff. Downside was it was hot and we were in an attic room but nothing you can do about the weather! Service was excellent apart from one night where slightly overwhelmed and understaffed, did not spoil our stay and would 100% go again! Highly recommend
