Breakfast was average. The breakfast staff were friendly.
I was charged an amenity fee which I was told was $40 and would be refunded if not used. I didn't use it, however it was incorrectly charged as $44.52 twice. I will watch my credit card statement to see if it's refunded but I have my doubts.
It was mostly clean and had a huge breakfast selection including fresh fruit. Nice, fluffy towels.
I reserved a king room but was given a double. I was willing to overlook that but then there was no maid service. No fresh towels even. No safe in the room and big signs saying they aren’t responsible for valuables left. The room was just humid. No bathroom fan and just endlessly humid.
The food was good, Need more options. And more space
The old furniture,And just not a lot of food to choose from
We stay at Fairfield hotels frequently, so we had a good basis for comparison. While the staff were consistently friendly and the housekeeping team did an excellent job keeping the room as clean as possible, the property itself is showing its age.
The rooms are dated and still have only double beds, which made sleeping arrangements difficult for two average-sized adults sharing a bed. The mattresses were also quite uncomfortable and seem overdue for replacement.
We use the fitness center at every hotel we visit, and unfortunately this one was disappointing and very small. There were no sanitizing wipes available, none of the TVs on the cardio equipment worked properly, and one treadmill was noticeably unbalanced, wobbly, and felt unsafe to use.
The breakfast staff were welcoming and worked hard, but the breakfast selection never changed during our stay, and the eggs were consistently overcooked and dry.
The hotel’s location is excellent, and we were told the property is scheduled for a refresh. Until a significant renovation is completed, however, I would choose to stay elsewhere.
The location is great and the property is clean.
The staff at the front desk were rude and uninterested in checking anyone in.
O
All good
All good
It was clean, quiet and the pool was nice
Nothing
It was close to shopping and the venue for our visit.
The cleanliness was an issue. The sidechair in the room was stained with God knows what. The TV did not get local channels we wanted to watch. The tub did not drain. VERY noisy and we could not get the front desk to answer when the noise was disruptive to our sleep. I also booked one king-sized bed and arrived to the room to find two queen-sized beds.
The location for this property is great, especially if you’re visiting various areas of the Triangle. To my present surprise, there’s a public bus stop right outside the hotel for a bus that runs to Merchant Square. I ended up taking the bus down and back three days in a row to Colonial Williamsburg ($3 total each day for a day pass), allowing me to leave my car at the hotel.
Staff are really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A special thanks to Tawana at the front desk and Lyric and Sally at breakfast. Breakfast is excellent, far more than I expected to include scrambled eggs (hard boiled as well), biscuits, sausage, and real fresh fruit! Like, cantaloupe and honey dew!
Beautiful lobby and plenty of parking.
Bottom line, the hotel is tired, and I was told there’s a makeover scheduled next year. The short tub, fixed shower head, protruding sink, low quality coffee maker, etc were all outdated and worn. WHY are the toilets at the level of an elementary school toilet?? Only one of the two elevators seemed functional the entire week I was there.
It worked for me for the price (relative to surrounding hotels) and the great breakfast and staff partly offset how outdated it is. (The lobby is fresh and cool, the rooms, not so much.) Just be aware of the pros and cons.
Rude and incompetent staff. Unsafe area. Old rooms and needs updating. Their computer crashed and all of a sudden they said our reservation went away and couldn’t not check us in then refused service. We asked what to do and they said they could not help. Our friends who did check in checked out the next morning because they did not feel safe here. The management stands behind their poor employees and very poor property. Do not under any circumstances stay at this hotel. It should not be a part of the Marriott family. Been to marriotts all over the world and never have had treatment like this would have had better experience at a red roof inn.
Good location
Getting a little dated
Air conditioner was a bit noisy
How kid friendly the place is.
Please add potatoes and bacon to your breakfast.
