Would absolutely stay there again! Fantastic!
Pros:

Excellent rooms in a great location in Kyoto. Excellent breakfast. Short walk to great shopping and fantastic places to eat. Room was fantastic with nice balcony and great air conditioning. We had lounge access which had nice treats and drinks.

Cons:

The lobby is on the 4th floor so there is some back and forth with that but not a big deal. Very small laundry facilities if you need them.

Lovely hotel in great location
Pros:

Large room, really nicely decorated and appointed. Generally a lovely hotel. Great location too. Easy to walk to Gion and into central Kyoto.

Aesthetically pleasing large hotel
Pros:

The hotel is obviously beautiful and spacious compared to most Japanese hotels. It feels quite high end

Cons:

The size of the hotel made it feel like a large chain. We noticed it was VERY noisy at night, hearing cars etc (it is on a Main Street)
Staff were not helpful… we had to check out a day earlier for family emergency and had paid in full prior- the reception staff simply stated they could not assist with refunding the final night at all (despite it being many hours before the check out time).
We stayed at a far cheaper hotel (less than half of the price) one street away prior and enjoyed it much more.
