Cons:

The breakfast has a lot of pork options but limited beef or chicken as well as the egg omelette cooking station has mixed ingredients including port cooked in the same frying fan with those without pork. For us muslims it is not allowed

We had the worst hotel experience. Very unsanitary and I wouldn’t recommend it if you are staying with an infant

I liked that the hotel has so many malls and restaurants around

Cons:

The service was very disappointing. We requested a crib for my 10-month old baby and what they gave us was obviously not cleaned or washed properly because the beddings of the crib had a strong cat urine smell. We reported it and it seemed they didn’t even looked into it they just provided a replacement crib and it took 2 hours so it arrived around 12 midnight. The worst part was that it’s very dusty. We reported it the next day since it was late already and again, they replaced it with another dusty crib. Aside from this, the bathtub still had some hair and dirt in it so we didn’t use it.

**Run-down, poorly managed and nowhere near a five-star standard**

Let’s be honest: this hotel is old, dated and falling apart. It is trading on its name and reputation, but the reality does not match either.

The room had a pleasant view, but that was the only genuinely good thing about it. The refrigerator made such a horrible noise that we had to complain and have it replaced. The air conditioning did not work properly and produced an unpleasant smell. The room had received only a superficial clean and was nowhere near the standard expected of a supposedly high-quality hotel.

Room service was extremely slow. When the food finally arrived, it was bland, poorly presented and nothing like proper hotel-standard food.

Breakfast was just as bad. The eggs and omelettes appeared to have been cooked well in advance, were poorly prepared and were not being kept at the correct temperature. Worse still, after eating the omelette, I subsequently became ill with food poisoning. This turned an already unacceptable breakfast into a genuine health issue.

The restaurant was the worst part of the experience. It looked tired and was physically deteriorating. The waitresses were inattentive, repeatedly ignored us and seemed more interested in talking among themselves than serving paying guests. The food was so bad that I sent it back. There is no polite way to describe it—it was unacceptable.

The hotel was also constantly noisy, with people arriving and departing throughout the night. It felt like an overnight transit stop rather than a quality international hotel.

Compared with the excellent standards we have experienced in Hong Kong and Shanghai, this hotel was an embarrassment. It requires a complete refurbishment, properly trained staff, competent management and a serious overhaul of its food service.

This was not a minor disappointment. It was a thoroughly poor hotel experience, and I would not recommend staying or dining here in its present condition.
