A wonderfully unique boutique. We loved the welcoming faces at the front desk, the delicious morning breakfast at the Eddison, a pint at Dylan Bar before exploring, and the spacious room and amenities.
This is our 3rd Dylan stay. Each time has been lovely. It is a boutique hotel
The Rooms: Opulent, modern and efficient for size. (renovated in 2024.) Excellent "home away from home" features including heated bathroom floors, a bathtub, rain showers, a smart TV, plenty of outlets, and turndown service. Also appreciated 2 chairs with a small table to eat in.
Location & Walkability: Features a great neighborhood vibe right near Herbert Park. It is noted as best for repeat visitors, as it sits a bit far from the city center for a first-time tourist.
Food & Drinks: Offers a quality breakfast with complimentary pastries and yogurt when ordering mains, though a smoked salmon or fish option would be a welcome addition.
Loyalty Benefits: Notably recognized as a Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) property that honors Hilton Diamond benefits, providing both a room upgrade, breakfast and an amenity.
Service: Personable and detailed. Hotel reached out on Whatsapp prior to my stay. Although stay only 1 night they accommodated pillow requests.
My daughter and I took the weekend out to shop in town and stay at the Dylan. An exceptional experience of excellent accommodation, excellent food, gorgeous cocktails and really nice staff. Topped off with an early 10k run in a beautiful part of the city. Highly recommend.
You turn left or right.
Either option, you’re edging into a quiet lane off Baggot Street. Calm amid the churn of Dublin. Proper oasis.
You’ll meet the greatest staff.
We had the pleasure of meeting Nicola, Barbara and my math boy, Cormac.
Fantastic staff.
The attention to detail is award winning.
This hotel is pure class. Just book.
Thanks for the memories guys.
We’ll be back.
GG.
Well for a 5star hotel it was miles from the mark - yes nicely decorated.... on arrival no help the room with the luggage, then when we got to the deluxe double room, very small with a compact bathroom - could have been mistaken for a Travelodge (personally I don't know). Wanting a bottle of wine, no wine list or room service menu available (in print or digital), rang down and eventually after running through what wines they had, ordered a bottle of Sancerre. At breakfast (not busy only 9 people) service was dreadful, had to wait 18 minutes for out drink order (cappuccino & team), then confused the staff when asked for some toast, then after 20 minutes we had to leave for our taxi. Back at the hotel at 3pm the room still had not be cleaned and had to request a clean. When back to the room, the half a bottle of Wine had been removed with the front of house staff advising that the bottle was empty (rather hard as only had 2 x glasses). Hungry at 10.30 pm rang down for room service, with the response sorry we cannot offer anything as run out of all ingredients, even unable to make a sandwich! Next morning at breakfast, to enjoy my scrambled eggs (which were lovely) I asked for some brown sauce, sorry sir we don't have any - all the basics were missing, boutique hotel yes, 5star service no
The hotel is located at a dead end in a quiet, nice residential neighborhood. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The room (225) was a nice size; the bed was comfortable. We did not mind taking a taxi back and forth from the main downtown area; it was nice to leave the business of that area. Saba Thai restaurant, which was excellent, is walkable, as are a few pubs.
While the nice residential neighborhood was quiet, our room (225) backed up to a bar (The Waterloo) and it was loud until 10 or 11pm. It's a bit off the beaten path, so taking a taxi to any tourist sites is necessary. It's cheaper to flag a cab than book it on the app., which had a $5 service charge.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. The food is excellent with a great breakfast and dinner. The location is very walkable to the sites. Parking is by paid valet only so that would be the one drawback but not significantly enough for a return visit.
Want a hotel that caters to you without having to ask? Dylan delivers outstanding service. When asked if I had tried breakfast, I said our tour leaves before breakfast is served, and they packed us breakfasts to go the next morning! Also asked if they could arrange a taxi for the next day! Been a long time since hotel staff and service has been so outstanding! Rooms were spacious and charming. I recommend staying here!!
This was the WORST “5-star” hotel in our 11 day trip. Staff was difficult, bugs in shower and dust galore! The days we were there they hosted a 1st Communion with 20 unruly kids running aimlessly in and out. It was a disgrace! I will NEVER recommend or return to this place!
Frühstück
Zimmer teilweise in schlechtem Zustand, hellhörig und laute Türen im Gang und zum Zimmer.
What a gem! Class hotel!
Nothing, it’s an outstanding facility
What a special place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dylan -- two stays, in fact, bookending our Ireland trip. The staff remembered us from 10 days earlier and welcomed us back warmly. We enjoyed both of our rooms, which were a great value booked using Hilton points (since this is an Small Luxury Hotels property, bookable via Hilton).
Anna -- who works in the restaurant and bar -- is particularly special. Kind, warm, generous, and genuine. She's an asset to the hotel.
We spent the last night of a two week trip at The Dylan. The staff were the nicest and most welcoming of all the places we stayed and that says a lot for Ireland where everyone is so nice. The room was fantastic and the menu in the restaurant was the best we had. Would certainly make this a part of future trips to the Emerald Isle.
I loved this gem of a property, tucked away in a neighborhood across from a small park yet right around the corner from shops and restaurants. 'Loved our room and the creative decor and design all throughout the hotel. The cocktails at the bar were amazing and really looked forward to a delicious breakfast with scrumptious scones every morning! I have wanted to stay at this hotel for years and it did not disappoint!!
Front of house staff superb,!! Polite, helpful
This is a charming hotel. While a bit of a walk from the bustling tourist area, this neighborhood still has plenty of restaurants and shops, wine bars and pubs. But much quieter and more authentic Dublin neighborhood in our opinion. The staff is really nice, from the front desk to the restaurant. Breakfast was included with our stay and every morning it was delicious. The manager in the morning is tremendous making everyone feel welcome. The turndown service with a chocolate is delightful. The bed is comfortable, room clean and the water pressure strong! Highly recommend this hotel and really enjoyed our stay.
Stayed here for 3 nights, located in Ballsbridge and close to everything. Easy to get both public transportation and FreeNow. The hotel itself is what old school luxury hotels should be - clean, attention to details, friendly and welcoming staff, good breakfast made fresh. The only reason not giving a 5 star is due to limited amenities like the pool and spa, otherwise it is comparable to Intercontinental Hotel in Ballsbridge. We will be back.
