Love this hotel! Complimentary Wine was almost as amazing the city view! Harrison and Timmy at the front desk were the best and came in clutch when my wife needed some emergency feminine products.
Tom is the most helpful person I have ever dealt with in any hotel. We stay with the Marc Spencer every single time we stay in Portland, which is at least once a year for the last few years, usually two or three times. We love everything about it. Thank you for another wonderful stay!
I absolutely love this hotel! The location is amazing, I walked everywhere over two days when I was there. The staff at the front desk have been consistently so kind, helpful, and fun. I have been staying here for years.
The rooms are immaculate and the beds are incredible. I am a picky mattress gal, and in all the rooms I have stayed in, including a single room, the suite, etc. all the beds are incredible and I sleep so well. I am also a light sleeper, so I stay here because you can't hear anything going on outside.
The staff does an incredible job of making recommendations and making you feel safe and welcomed. I have never encountered staff at this hotel that wasn't smiling, kind, or happy, which goes a long way with me!
I also love that you can get free coffee in the lobby at all hours. I am a runner and will be up super early during my stay, and I can always count on fresh coffee being available. They also have a latte bar in the lobby should you need something more fun! This is definitely my hotel when I stay in Portland.
Our stay at MSH was perfect, and so was the location. We were upgraded to two rooms which actually worked out better than our original booking. Timmy was wonderful during check in, and the rest of our stay was impeccable. The room sizes were perfect for us, and both had kitchenettes. The rooms were spotless when we arrived, and all of the staff made sure we had what we needed during our stay. We will be returning next time we’re in Portland!
Small family owned 6-floor historic hotel snuggled in downtown Portland. Rooms are very comfortable, sparkling clean and are provided in a variety of sizes. Plenty of cozy seating areas n the lobby for visiting and relaxing. Car parking is provided beneath the hotel for an additional charge. Every night there is a wine tasting event from 5:00 to 6:00, with live musicians Friday through Sunday. Continental breakfast available every morning, but hotel is also within walking distance of multiple dining experiences. All this and a staff that is personal, helpful, friendly and very knowledgable. Now when we come to Portland, OR, Mark Spencer will definitely be our roost!!
Amazing spacious room, fresh coffee and tea in the lobby the whole day.
No breakfast, loud neighborhood.
The employees at the front desk were polite and efficient. The room was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I slept very well. The hotel is elegant. Moreover, on the premise, there is a place to clean laundry, which is a really nice touch. The location is in a very walkable neighborhood, and overall if I could give this hotel an even higher star rating, I would. Two words: well done.
Wonderful hotel, great staff, nice location.
Wonderful hotel. Excellent staff! We will always come back.
Location of hotel was good. Hotel was very clean. Staff was overall pleasant.
Wi-Fi was almost unusable. Room was noisy. No drawers in room. Closet door does not stay open.
It is always a pleasant stay with very comfy rooms, with kitchenette complete with cookware, safe hotel, lovely staff.
Staff, style and location
No issues
I liked that there was a min well equipped kitchen. Also the bathroom and beds were so lovely, with a complimentary fancy robe. The only thing is being downtown portland these days, especially at night is a little sketchy. Also we pushed the beds together and under the bed was super filthy, tissue to boot...
Other than that it was a fancy hotel, and really neat that it was a historical hotel... if those walls could talk lol
Really dirty under the bed, and there was a strange smell in the room, faint notes of i dont know what, initially walking into the room I wanted to go ask for a differnt room, then you kinda get used to it I guess.
