Excellent location
Room was teeny, tiny.

We came back to the hotel on Thursday night to find a guest in the common area saying their room and some common areas smelled like smoke. We also smelled the smoke, not over-powering, but present. We tried calling the Merrill House emergency phone number, as there is no staff on duty after 7:00 pm. No one answered the phone, and there was no option to leave a message. We called the fire department and they came to investigate. They said that it smelled like burnt paper, but they could not find the source. We spoke to a staff person the next morning and she took our email and said that the owner would contact us. Five days later, we have not heard from the owner. Some explanation as to the cause, would have put our minds at ease.
Excellent breakfast and accommodation.
The sauna did not work.

The property was beautiful and we loved that we could walk to Main Street.
We found the common areas chilly but some of our friends liked the temperature.

Reception OK! Restaurant was not functional, Tv not available for use had to have your own account to sign in for accessing channels, the room was just basic with one chair, no place to put your clothes i.e. chrster drawers, the jacuzzi was not easily accessible and dangerous to enter therefore unsafe for use. Missing light bulbs in bathroom and no bathroom fan without a window.
Very much disappointed with expectations.

The mattress could have been more firm. Extra blankets would have been ideal to have in the room as well. Black out curtains would be a good thing to put in the room

While the room was really cute and quirky this unfortunately also meant that some of the furnishings were not the most practical.
The staff were so lovely & helpful. Our stay was super cozy! A quick walk to the lovely downtown too

Seems like rooms booked through booking services & not booked directly with hotel are very small and outdated.
Washroom barely had space to turn around in and shower faucet fell off and wouldn't turn off.
Breakfast only included for guests that book directly - not with booking services.
