It was clean and location was good but wouldn't want to stay for very long.
Pros:

On site parking is helpful and secure and being able to charge the car was good. Having to pay to park the car overnight (£11) felt a bit steep? Location close to Jesmond was helpful.

Cons:

Room was a little tired and very warm despite being able to open the window. Both my daughter and I didn't sleep very well. We didn't spend very much time at the hotel - it was just a stop over and we didn't have breakfast.

Food is delicious
Pros:

It’s near to the Freeman Hospital
The chef is amazing everything was delicious

Cons:

Could have been a tad clearer in the bathroom. Room number 243 the bathroom door could do with a lick of paint or just a good wash.

A few niggling problems and near misses means that this stay ***scrapes** an "OK", but only just
Pros:

The car park was close to the hotel and I was able to get a space both times that I arrived with the car, even with a roof box on the car. At check-in my room number was written on the rooming card and was NOT spoken aloud — Excellent. The receptionist advised me that they were not allowed to say the room number — Excellent. The condition of room 123 overall was fair. Room 123 bed was OK. Room 123 pillow was OK. In room 123, the handwash that was provided was OK. The toilet was clean, flushed OK and in general was OK. In Room 123 the hand towel that was in the bathroom was Fair. Room 123 the bath towel that was in the wardrobe was Fair. Breakfast was OK. The work desk was OK, and at a reasonable height. All the lights worked. Breakfast was OK, including all usual buffet breakfast items including bread, toast, pastries, cereal, milk, water, cold meat and cheese, cooked breakfast items bacon, egg mushroom, baked beans, tea and coffee.

Cons:

The spaces in the car park were small and difficult to park in. It was only by fortuitous luck that I was able to park the car (with roof box) in spaces that would accommodate the height with the roof box, whilst still allowing the driver's door to be opened with enough room to exit and later re-enter. Room 123: the shower valve was incredibly stiff to operate. I think probably half of people would either not be able to operate it, or would struggle. Room 123: the handwash dispensing in the ensuite was poorly designed, being made out of a thin metal sheet, whenever the squirty nozzle was pressed on the top of the bottle, the platform on which the bottle sat sagged down, making the nozzle action unsatisfactory. Room 123: The bath towel that was in the bathroom was clammy verging on sticky and the towel fabric seemed very worn; to my eye it seemed well below the acceptable standard, and should have been retired from guest usage. Fortunately there was another bath towel in the wardrobe that was at least fair. Room 123 the extractor fan in the bathroom was somewhat rattly. There was no obvious toilet brush, meaning that it was difficult to keep the toilet bowl clean. At breakfast, there was no obvious orange juice — a hotel providing a buffet breakfast should provide orange juice — this is obvious — it may have been provided on request, but I shouldn't have to ask. Paying for parking on-line would have attracted an arbitrary "made up" surcharge of 40 pence, whereas paying for parking at the machine inside the hotel would not. I paid for parking inside the hotel, but was not offered a paper receipt but rather only choice of SMS text or email. I chose email, entered my email address but did not receive any receipt by email. I submitted a support request to the parking people, but the form required (for no good reason) a booking number, which I had at no point been provided with. Fortunately I was able to get this number eventually.

Perfect room for a short stay
Pros:

I booked it last minute and to be honest, for four days in Newcastle it was perfect! It’s near a metro which made it easy to access the city centre, the staff were super friendly and lovely. I genuinely don’t have anything negative to say.
