Chosen for its location near Jesmond with a private car park. The front desk staff were polite and helpful. Starbucks in the foyer was a nice idea.
My room, 238, smelt awful - years of stale smoke and human beings. A spray air freshener could not even dent the smell. It made me feel sick all night. The window was screwed closed so there was no possibility of fresh air. The room was tired and basic and the cost too high for somewhere of such low quality.

People on my floor were loud and slamming doors in the early hours of the morning
Double mattress is not comfortable but this is not firm, I think mattress replacement new form mattress

Breakfast was lovely the staff were really helpful.

One thing only, a larger mirror in the room above the desk so people can use a hair dryer with ease.

Cold as only the thin duvet and I think my price was more expensive than I'd have liked because The Northern Run was on.
Good shower, comfortable bed, friendly extremely helpful staff, near metro station in safe area. Was there for Great North Run and hotel laid on extra water bottles, fruit etc. impressed.

There’s no lounge area though could have sat in bar but it didn’t open till 5. There was a sitting area but used mostly by business folk.

There wasn't anything we didnt particularly dislike but the bar is a nice space but seems to be under utilised and lacks ambience it could be so much better, it also closes at 10.30-11 which seems early, maybe it was a particularly quiet weekend when we went but it seems to hear a great space that could add to the overall experience if marketed better

It was a quiet hotel, we slept really well. The room was very clean and comfortable. We used the bar and the Starbucks cafe, staff in both were very friendly
