Please treat customers as guests. Be welcoming and engage with them more. Sort the breakfast out.
Pros:

Food in the evening was good.

Welcome tray in room quite good.

Cons:

Reception staff not very welcoming. No real greeting. Not asked on checking out how the stay was.

Breakfast was awful. Staff unwelcoming, hot food inedible, not enough tables for two people, one member of staff only, appeared to be mainly engaged in clearing away.

Lighting in bedroom very poor. I cannot understand the obsession in enclosing light bulbs in black shades.

The door of a housekeeping room on the bedroom corridor remained wide open for the entire stay, revealing stacks of linen and cleaning materials. Very bad impression.
Bathroom poor. Nowhere to put things around the wash basin. Design of the basin trumped functionality.

basic and dated but good location.
Pros:

room was simple but pleasant, although the chairs in my room need to be replaced. cooked breakfast was good but there was no cold meat and cheese for continental option. location ideal.

Cons:

First impression as you arrive is VERY disappointing. I almost turned away when I parked facing a very dated and unappealing block of windows where the blinds/curtains were all a mish-mash,. It did cause me some concern about what was inside. The owners should address the kerb appeal of these windows as it looks more like an asylum accommodation unit, less like a hotel.

Second time visiting and my last.
Pros:

Staff welcome was good and staffs response to issues.

Upgraded by double booking.

Cons:

Room cleanliness was not great, fingers marks on toilet flushes....

No duvet on bed!

Room had a floor fan on, second fan on standby and the window was open! When looking out it looked as if the HVAC was broken or turned off!

The smell of chlorine from the Spa in the hotel is very strong.

The second room had not drinking water.

The wood furniture in the room is showing lots of age related marks.

Hit my head on the shower door casing (im 6"2)... surly its reasonable to have tall guests?

External concrete is cracking on the building exposing internal steelwork... not great.

Would stay again.
Pros:

The room was lovely. The staff were helpful. This location was chosen because of the staff on calling their flexibility dues to one of out party having accessible needs. This alone would lead me to book again.

Cons:

The decor is a little tired but that is because it is a hugely poular and busy hotel, The rooms did not show any tiredness though, very comfortable.

beds are comfortable to stay but it is mostly the cleanliness needs to be addressed properly
Pros:

close to the hospital

Cons:

there were dust on the headboard, the toilet smells like dried urine, the walls in the bathroom needs proper cleaning and the upper corner of the walls in the bedroom needs re doing or cleaning 😞

Cheap but not cheerful
Pros:

Location and leisure facilities.

Cons:

Staff shortage - dinner was too long in arriving and minus one starter. Food was unappetising and pricey for the quality. After such lengthy waiting, I could not get desserts as kitchen closed.

The room was in need of some upgrading. All bathroom fittings were loosely hanging from wall. The shower was very difficult to regulate to a comfortable temperature, and it felt like it could scald at any time.

After a request to have room serviced on second day, housekeeping only arrived after 4pm due to staffing problem.
