Het hotel geeft als pluspunt 'parking privé'. Ik ben altijd op zoek naar een hotel waar ik met een gerust hart mijn auto in een gesloten garage kan achterlaten tijdens de week van mijn verblijf en daarom had ik mijn keuze laten vallen op Novotel Gare Saint Jean. Tramlijn voor het hotel, praktisch. De garage is enkel toegankelijk met een code. En aan de garage in grote drukletters 'Attention, immeuble sous surveillance caméra'. Maar na enkele dagen moest ik vaststellen dat mijn autoruit ingeslagen was een kleine koffer gestolen was uit mijn koffer. Deze koffer bevatte gerief en materiaal voor mijn volgende vakantie aan het strand en dus niet nodig was tijdens mijn bezoek aan Bordeaux. Nochtans was deze niet zichtbaar. Het personeel is zelfs niet komen kijken. Heb zelf de hele dag mijn plan moeten trekken om naar de politie te gaan en de nodige stappen om mijn schade te laten herstellen. Ik heb zelf een bezem moeten vragen om het glas van mijn zetel te vegen om naar Carglass te kunnen rijden. De gelatenheid van het personeel tov de inbraak heeft me enorm gestoord. Ze leken dit bijna niet abnormaal te vinden de groeiende criminaliteit. In heel de ondergrondse parking is geen spoor van een camera. Als antwoord kreeg ik dat het geen geprivatiseerde parking is omdat die gedeeld werd met het hotel gelegen naast hun hotel. Ik heb bij mijn thuiskomst een mail naar het hotel gestuurd waar ik vroeg om verontschuldigingen en een vergoeding. Op zijn minst het bedrag voor de parking (17 euro's per nacht). Ik heb ook geschreven in de mail dat het hotel op hun website 'les plus: parking privé' moesten weglaten, want dit is bedrieglijke reclame. Ik heb verontschuldigingen gekregen en terugbetaling van mijn parking en één nacht verblijf. Ik had vertrouwen gehad in Novotel en was altijd redelijk tevreden. Maar nu zal ik niet meer direct in de toekomst voor Novotel kiezen, ik hou er een slecht gevoel van over.
A good hotel that is value for money. A little tricky to reach by car but once there all was very good. Large underground parking space. A 20 minute walk to the city centre. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was adequate. The staff were helpful and friendly. The city tram went by the hotel door but we decided to walk instead.
Driving through the narrow streets to get there at night was a little tricky but the hotel is very good.

Gute Lage, nette direkt im Zentrum aber Haltestelle der Straßenbahn direkt vor der Tür, parken in Tiefgarage problemlos und für 17 € pro Tag für eine Stadt wie Bordeaux völlig angemessen.
Very friendly and helpful people at the reception after we had to evacuate the forest fires around Bordeaux and arrived late at night with two small children.

La chambre était spacieuse, l'ensemble de l'hôtel est très calme. Il y a tous les équipements : un mini frigo, une bouilloire avec des tasses, un bureau, un fauteuil en plus du grand lit. L'emplacement est idéal, proche de la gare, avec le tram au pied de l'hôtel pour aller facilement au centre-ville ou ailleurs. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est très fourni et le personnel est attentif à ce qu'il soit toujours rempli. C'est un buffet continental avec oeufs brouillés, oeufs durs, bacon, saucisses etc... mais également tout ce qu'on pourrait retrouver dans un petit déjeuner plus "français" mini viennoiseries, fruits, céréales, yaourt, fromage, pain, beurre, confitures ... Bref il y en a pour tous les goûts
Les toilettes séparés sont normalement un plus mais ils étaient très étroits c'est mon seul bémol.

L’hôtel est clairement vieux, pas assez entretenu et sale (j’avais encore des cheveux collés au mur de la salle de bain en prenant ma douche)
Normalement Novotel signifie un certain standing qui n’était pas présent ici mais le prix n’était pas excessif non plus donc la qualité doit s’en ressentir je présume.
Grande chambre avec un lit très confortable, rideau occultant efficace. Le petit-déjeuner est varié, tout est frais. Le personnel est accueillant. A cinq minutes à pied de la gare. Le tramway passe devant l'hôtel pour aller en centre ville.
Accueil très sympathique.Le réceptionniste a pris le temps de nous conseiller les sites à voir . Nous avons apprécié.
