Rivers Edge Resort

We stayed at River's Edge because we were with a tour group and that's the hotel the tour group chose. Calling this place a "resort" is a joke. The River's Edge is old and run down. It's in desperate need of renovations, repairs and updating/upgrading, and deep cleaning. The furniture, decor, carpet, linens, etc. are old and worn and need to be replaced. The first room we were assigned smelled terrible and we asked to be moved. We were moved to another "cottage" which wasn't much better, but it did not smell as bad. After settling into the room, I noticed there was at least a 1-inch opening at the bottom of the door (no door sweep) .... the door goes to the outdoors and would allow bugs and other small critters to enter the room. We reported this and a door sweep was put on the door by the 3rd night. In the meantime, we had to put a towel up against the door at night to prevent anything from entering the room. While we were away during the day it was open though. We had no housekeeping services for the 3 days we were there. We stopped a housekeeping person outside and asked for clean towels. We requested that our dirty towels be collected and no one came to get them. On the 3rd night the front desk person came to our room and collected the dirty towels. This place is a rip off. For the price you pay it should be much nicer and services should be better. There are other hotels in Fairbanks ... I would not recommend staying at River's Edge.

Dont stay here if you have any work to do online or need to upload pictures or videos or need to edit pictures or videos. The internet is like something of the 90s.

Credit card readers not working at the front desk. Ended up reserving cottage with river view online as a work around. Found gap in door and ants in room. Vent in bathroom very dirty as well as air conditioner unit in wall. I like a firm mattress but both queens very uncomfortable. Front step wobbly. The shower felt good. Tub was small. I do not feel that the cottage was worth the price.

Very friendly and clean. Nice individual cabins. Smallish and old fashioned. Nothing fancy. Quiet. Some of the cabins overlook the river. Ours was a garden cabin. Very close walk to the river and a trail along the river. Also has an adjoining RV park. I would stay there again. Oh, close to the airport too.

The room was just what we needed and it was easy to grab food from a near by Fred Myer and close to the airport!

Staff was so friendly and the cottage was so clean and fun. Thank you so much for a perfect stay. 5 Stars all around.

Airport shuttle to hotel was easy. They even shuttled us to Princess lodge next morning no charges. Rooms: quaint individual cottages, very clean and comfortable. We were happier here than at Fairbanks Princess Lodge! Breakfast buffet was good. Don't miss Museum of North, Soapy Smith Pioneer Restaurant downtown (owner is long time Alaskan and shares a wealth of info + good food, Pioneer Park for Salmon Bake and don't miss the Golden Heart Revue at the Palace Theatre

We had the best time at Rivers Edge Resort! The restaurant on site is excellent and the breakfast was delicious. The cabin was perfect for us and the staff was more than willing to help with anything we needed. Leslie was extremely helpful. She ensured we knew all of the best places to go in the area and was always willing to help.

The River's Edge shuttle drivers are great. They are friendly and engaging and will take you to and pick you up from many places near the resort (train station, discovery landing, airport, etc.). The location is a bit out of the way if you do not have a vehicle, yet we made do with the shuttles. The River Cottage is the best choice in our minds. Somewhere around the 114-117 Cottages have good views of the Chena River from the room. The rooms are a little dated, yet we found ours to be clean, good shower and nices beds. The front desk person from Arkansas (wish I could remember her name) was extremely helpful and friendly. Owners should ask her to train the other front desk staff in being friendly and helpful. Buffet Breakfast is adequate (3 out of 5). There is a Fred Meyer grocery store for snacks and such -- about a 15 minute walk. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

I did not like paying nearly 22$ for a continental breakfast that would be free at most motels

Ok need to get water clear. Staying at Resort down the road water is totally clear.

The staff at River's Edge Resort was outstanding! Leslie was extremely helpful. Our flight was cancelled so we needed another night of lodging and she bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of! I cannot say enough nice things about this resort. Cabins were cute and the rooms upstairs in the lodge were amazing. Totally recommend this place
