Comfortable but serious security issue

Cons:

When cleaning my room one morning, the cleaning staff did not close the door properly and my door was open the entire day until I arrived at nearly 10 pm. When I told reception about this, I got a simple “sorry”. When I further explained that I had passports and money in my room and this was a serious issue to me and reflected badly on the hotel, I again got an emotionless “sorry” and nothing else. Not a single word of understanding or assurances that this would be addressed so it doesn’t happen again. Not a single suggestion that they comprehended that this was a serious issue that cannot be repeated. I filled out a complaint form before leaving and left it with the front desk hoping a manager or something would get in touch with me and that also never happened.

Another day I asked the front desk for change for a 5000 yen bill so I could do laundry next door. They told me no, and to go to a 7-11 to get change.

These two responses by the front desk, one very minor and one very serious, makes it so I cannot possibly recommend this hotel to anyone else. They clearly do not take security seriously and they are not willing to help their guests with small favors like the changing money. No one is ever present at the front desk, I had to literally yell “hello? Is anyone here?” the few times I needed to speak with them. They collect your payment and then they seem to want nothing to do with you after that, no help, no favors, and no fixing the serious mistakes of their staff members.

Value for money, new and nice facility, convenient location.
Pros:

Clean and large room, convenient neighboorhood.
There is Aeon Mall, JR station nearby.
24hr Coin laundry with great price is located next to the hotel.
Spacious lounge with lots of table and seats to rest and sit, with free drink bar for tea, coffee, non-caffine drinks, microwave oven and toaster. Value for money.

便利で清潔なビジネスホテル
Pros:

京都駅から南へ10分程度で便利。道の反対側にローソンあり。町中華「老上海」の横。ロビーにてセルフでカップフィルター式コーヒーや色々な種類のティーバッグ式ホットティが設置。アイスティもあり。オーブントースターとレンジあり。本来は朝食提供用なので朝は使えなくなる可能性大。部屋にはちょっとしたテーブルデスクあり。部屋でもロビーでもPC利用可。

Cons:

カウンターは無人なので自動チェックインのみだが、このサイトを通すと名前からチェックイン不可で予約番号が必要。本来は有料朝食提供だが現在停止中(2026年7月)。部屋の壁紙が剥がれかけていた。Wi-Fiは各部屋専用のポイントだが2台繋ぐとどちらかが切れるなど不安定。

Pros:

Room was very comfortable with great shower. Complimentary tea and coffee was awesome, and they had lots of free toiletries available. Location was a little far out, but bus close enough by and not too much further to train station.

Cons:

Beds and pillows were a little uncomfortable, and lobby often smelled like cigarettes.
