Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable bed and powerful shower. Fan in room to contend with the heatwave. Central location. I slept well as the hotel was quiet (despite being full).
The building is old so some parts of the hotel were looking a bit tired. However, the bed was comfortable, the shower good and breakfast excellent. My visit coincided with a heatwave and my room was incredibly hot on the first night (despite the fan). It was cooler on the second night as window left open all day.

The whole place looked down at heel, desperately in need of decorating and modernising. My room was shabby and deeply dirty. Very poor breakfast

Have known the place for 35 years, been in countless times, stayed a few times before, all was good and as expected this time. New managers have just started and were still finding their feet but they were very kind and helpful and helped a positive stay. Food good, parking just behind the building. Overall, recommended.
A few areas are showing wear and tear now but wouldn't take much to tickle things up a bit. Didn't expect bar to be closing at 10:00pm at the weekend, never used to be like that!
I had a two night stay at the hotel which I have visited a number of times over the years. On this last occaion I stayed 2 nights. On arrival in the early evvening I was told that there was no dinner available, despite it being advertised that it wouls be available, because there was 'a problem with the chef'. On the following evening that position had not changed.
I returned to my room at about 9.00 pm to find that my bed was unmade, the room had not been cleaned and the waste bin in the bathroom had not been emptied. I feel all that was totally unacceptable.
I await a response from the hotel or Booking.com

The only thing (but wasn't a big deal) would be staying in room 101 was that its by the exit for people whom wanted to come in and out after 10pm had doors opening and closing. But wouldn't go as far as saying I didn't like it, it is what it is

The staff, Sarah was a gem and an absolute credit to the hotel. Honestly the kindest team who went out of their way to make our stay work for us
That the double bed was against a wall so you could not get off one side . For us, that felt claustrophobic but may not bother someone else
Nice big family room, big bed, clean, good location for Llanwwen where our family live, nice breakfast
Tv didn’t come on but we weren’t bothered about that
