Empfehlenswert und bei einem weiteren Aufenthalt hoffentlich mit renoviert Bädern
Pros:

Das Hyatt Regency Mainz hat eine absolut tolle Lage direkt am Rhein und gleichzeitig nur wenige Gehminuten von der Altstadt entfernt.

Der Check-in verlief schnell und unkompliziert. Sehr angenehm fanden wir auch, dass im Eingangsbereich kostenlos Wasser bereitsteht. Unser Zimmer war bereits vor der offiziellen Check-in-Zeit bezugsfertig, was uns sehr entgegenkam.

Das Zimmer selbst war großzügig geschnitten und hatte eine große Fensterfront. Die Betten waren sehr bequem, außerdem gab es kostenloses Wasser sowie ausreichend Ablageflächen und Schränke. Positiv aufgefallen sind uns auch die angenehm großen Handtücher.

Das Frühstück wird von 7 bis 11 Uhr angeboten, was wir sehr entspannt fanden. Die Auswahl war groß, der Cappuccino sehr lecker und besonders die Brötchen und das Brot haben uns richtig gut geschmeckt.

Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt in toller Lage.

Cons:

Weniger stimmig fanden wir derzeit das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Der Spa-Bereich wird aktuell umgebaut und auch die Bäder werden nach und nach erneuert. Gerade vor diesem Hintergrund empfanden wir den Zimmerpreis als recht hoch.

Beim Frühstück lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall, dieses direkt bei der Buchung mitzubuchen. Bei unserer Buchung über Booking betrug der Aufpreis für zwei Personen 50 Euro und war damit deutlich günstiger als eine nachträgliche Buchung vor Ort. Trotzdem ist auch das noch ein stolzer Preis. Ein Omelett war im Frühstückspreis enthalten, dauerte allerdings recht lange und kam sehr schlicht und etwas lieblos zubereitet an den Tisch. Weitere Eierspeisen, Avocadobrot und ähnliche Gerichte wurden nur gegen zusätzlichen Aufpreis angeboten.

Schade fanden wir außerdem, dass sich das Fenster im Zimmer nicht öffnen ließ – ein Fenstergriff war gar nicht vorhanden. Wer gerne mit geöffnetem Fenster schläft oder zwischendurch Frischluft ins Zimmer lassen möchte, sollte das berücksichtigen.

Unser Zimmer hatte zudem eine Verbindungstür zum Nachbarzimmer. Diese Zimmer würden wir eher nicht empfehlen, da die Geräuschisolierung deutlich schlechter war. Sowohl Telefongespräche als auch der Fernseher aus dem Nachbarzimmer waren sehr klar zu hören.

Eigentlich war alles sehr toll. Waren sehr zufrieden.

Cons:

Meckern auf hohem Niveau:
Hatte einen runden Geburtstag während meines Aufenthalts. Außer Glückwünsche hätte ich vielleicht eine klitzekleine Aufmerksamkeit erwartet. Zum Beispiel beim Frühstück irgendwas am Tisch. Ein Blümchen oder kleine Schoki.
Aber wie gesagt: Meckern auf sehr hohem Niveau.

Great location ,noisy in rooms due to renovations

First room awford we were told it was “ a bit of an upgrade“. It was a corner room on floor 4 that was clearly a smokers room and was dirty. We went straight down to reception and they gave us a second room on the top floor, but unfortunately, this was next to one of the rooms being renovated. 9 am one morning and 8 am the next the drilling started. Went on until 6 pm. We were out anyway most of the days at a wedding and couldn’t face moving all our stuff for a third time, but it still was pretty disruptive. …we mentioned this to Staff as we checked out and they very kindly remove one of the breakfasts that we had as compensation. However, I do think they should be a bit more aware the Staff of which rooms they’re giving out and I wasn’t aware we had to request non-smoking rooms.

Remek, de rejtett (és nehezen indokolható) költséggel jár.
Pros:

Mit bakizhat egy Hyatt? Semmit. Szép épület, remek kiszolgálás, bőséges reggeli-kínálat, kedves személyzet.

Cons:

A 477 EUR szobaár mellett (2 személy kettő nap) személyenként és naponként 50 EUR (nálunk tehát 200 EUR) került terhelésre, tehát helyből 677 EUR-ra ugrott a kártyás fizetés összege, amihez hozzájött még a parkolási díj és a csuda tudja mi, de végül 800 EUR felett terhelték meg a bankkártyánkat. Na ezen jól meglepődtünk.
Tanulság - a Hyatt esetében nem árt, ha van tartalékpénz a számládon. Nekünk persze volt.
Vártuk, hogy a plusz 200 EUR "kaució-jellegű" terhelés visszakerüljön hozzánk.
A jelek szerint viszont nem fog, mert mire hazaértem, már 743 EUR-ról várt a számla a levelesládámban. Erősen lehúzósnak érzem, mert kettő reggeli mellé még odadobtak egy 78 EUR reggeli tételt is. Tehát ezt a pénzt buktuk. A fentiek miatt sajnos úgy érzem, hogy a jövőben másik szállodát látogatok meg. Jövő szeptember végén megint Mainz-ba kell utazzak. De nem a Hyatt-ben szállunk meg. Az már biztos.

Leider war das Zimmer sehr schmutzig. Ob Staub auf den Lampen, kaputter Sessel bis zu Haare im Bad war leider alles dabei.

Empfehlenswert für einen Aufenthalt in Mainz
Pros:

Schönes Hotel direkt am Rhein. Das Gesamtabiente ist ansprechend, unser Zimmer war sehr groß und die Betten bequem. Positiv war ein ungefragtes Update auf ein Zimmer mit Rheinblick, da unser ursprüngliches um 16 Uhr noch nicht zu beziehen war. Gute Reaktion ! :-) Sehr gute Lage zur Altstadt mit Parkmöglichkeit (Tiefgarage).

Cons:

Das Personal war insgesamt freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einzig an der Hotelbar wurden wir Abends recht unfreundlich abgefertigt. Seitens der Rezeption hatten wir bei Anreise die Info erhalten, dass die Bar bis 1.00 Uhr geöffnet sei. Wir sind gegen 23.30 Uhr ins Hotel zurückgekehrt und wollten noch einen letzten Absacker zu uns nehmen. Obwohl noch einige Gäste in der Bar waren und kurz vor uns Getränke erhalten haben, wurden wir erst nach einiger Diskussion doch noch bedient. Eine anschließende Diskussion mit dem Vorgesetzten der Bar verlief auch eher unfreundlich/herablassend. Schade, da wir eigentlich einen schönen Tag in Mainz (und ansonsten auch im Hotel) hatten.
