Great time and experience
Pros:

My wife and I did a date night stay on the Queen Mary. Our first visit there and will definitely be back. The dinner at Chelsea was amazing and the live music at the observation bar was fantastic. Tina Aldana band was just incredible. I highly recommend the experience.

It was nice

Cons:

The floor where the secret party is located has no bathroom and the drinks were the most expensive and were not good

Lovely hotel, gross food
Pros:

The queen Mary itself is very nice, but I recommend going in the winter because it was quite hot with no air conditioning even with fans it was warm which they do warn you about. The bartenders and The Bar were amazing with good drinks…. My complaint is with the promenade café. I prepaid for breakfast for two adults and two children and the buffet is disgusting! Hard cinnamon rolls and pastries, rubbery bacon and a lack of variety was not worth $140. If we ate $20 worth of food that was a lot. I will be back in the winter to go to the bar. I just won’t eat there.

What an adventure.
Pros:

If you love history, this is an amazing getaway. The ship came to LB more than 50 years ago and was retiring then. So it is dated and left that way on purpose.
If you see only one exhibit, make sure it's the propeller still attached to the ship and displayed in water. Truly an awesome sight!
The food I've gotten so far was less expensive than I expected and much better than I expected. And the staff had been all friendly and helpful.
I've had a great time.

Memorable stay
Pros:

Have wanted to stay on the original Queen Mary for a long time after sailing in the Queen Mary II. We initially had a problem with our cabin but the receptionist quickly sorted us out and moved us. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was lovely to stay in a historic room and this one ticked all those boxes. Our bathroom was pretty much like the one in the exhibition! It all worked just fine.
I wouldn’t say it has air conditioning as such but reception supplied us with a fan as it was warm.
We ate onboard which was very nice and looked at as many exhibitions as we had time for. Would have liked to have had more time in the evening but they closed at 8.

A step back in time to see experience old style ocean travel.
Pros:

We enjoyed the entire atmosphere, the history, etc. We also enjoyed both the dining room (dinner and breakfast) and cocktail bar (dessert and drinks). We appreciated our stay more after having taken the full boat tour. One of our favorites was the films running on a loop showing the Queen Mary through history.

Cons:

We were not told about the free "Departure Tour" until it was too late the day we arrived. This was especially frustrating because the stand for it is just across the lobby. It really should be a standard part of the check-in process and not rely on guests to ask for it.

Live in the midst of history
Pros:

I guess I assume most people choose to stay on the Queen Mary out of an interest in history, art deco and or the lifestyle of the rich and famous of the 1930’s. We sure did.

It was fun to feel like you were boarding the real “Mary.” Everything on the interiors is pretty much like it was back in the ‘30’s.

We took the History Tour and really enjoyed learning about the ship. Highly recommend.

The Chowder restaurant was excellent as was the Observation Bar. We went to both twice.

The “downsides:”

The A/C is central so it can’t be controlled. We asked for a fan and that helped.

The WiFi signal was almost non-existent. Hotels continue to feel WiFi is an “extra”. But today it’s just as essential as lights and plumbing. Somehow they managed to have cable TV in the rooms, so there’s no excuse not to have good WiFi. (In retrospect I should have asked for a room change to get better reception.)

Would be again
Pros:

We had a late check in. So most things were closed. But we were able to walk the ship at night. It was quiet and clean. The architecture of the ship is amazing. We were offered fans or extra blankets. Whatever we needed. We asked for a roll away and it was promptly delivered. The room was spacious on the B deck. The blow dryer didn’t work. But that was okay. It is a bit pricey, but the experience was neat.
