Disappointing service and mismanaged transport
Our stay at Occidental Puerto Banús was ruined on our final day due to poorly managed airport transportation and unhelpful front-desk staff.
* Room Cleanliness (3/5): Cleanliness was mediocre at best—acceptable enough for a short stay, but certainly not up to expected 4-star standards.
* Mismanaged Airport Transfer: We arranged a transfer to Málaga Airport directly through the hotel front desk. Right before our departure, staff informed us the taxi company had canceled. Had they given adequate notice, we could have easily booked a reliable alternative via Booking.com or another service at standard rates.
* Excessive Last-Minute Costs: Because of their late notice, we were forced into an emergency arrangement that cost significantly more than expected.
* Zero Accountability at Checkout: When checking out, we brought up the issue and the financial impact caused by their misarranged service. Management flatly refused to offer any refund, compensation, or ownership of the mistake.
A convenient location does not make up for average cleanliness and a complete lack of reliability and customer care when things go wrong. Would not recommend.
