great value for a family stay in Lakeview area.
Pros:

The rooms had bright color schemes, which was fun, and had a family-friendly vibe. There was a mini bar (snacks and alcohol) in the room, and a separate fridge for guest use.
The location was great- near restaurants and coffee shops, and right next to a public transit station.
A/c in the room worked great, and both the bedroom area and the sitting room had ceiling fans
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The view from the windows was just an ally near the El train, so it felt too exposed to leave the curtains open for sunlight in the room. But the curtains were light-filtering, so we had to keep the lights turned on in the room. Because it's an old building, the lights would occasionally flicker.
City noises outside the window were audible from the bedroom area.

Comfortable enough
Pros:

The location was central to my conference and lots of places to eat. The staff were wonderful. The accommodations were comfortable and quiet.

Cons:

The room was tiny, like cupboard-under-the-stairs tiny. Especially when I saw the rooms my colleagues were given on the same floor for the same price. Fine for one person, but I'm glad my husband wasn't with me. Otherwise, it was a cute hotel. I would stay there again, but I would request a regular-sized room.

Good choice for Lakeview central, very walkable area with easy train access.

Great hotel, small elevator
Pros:

We had a great stay at the City Suites hotel on Belmont Ave in Chicago. The location is great, just one block from the Ventra train station and a couple of blocks from our son, which made it very convenient. The offsite parking was reasonable, safe, and close. The front desk staff was very friendly and remembered us as we came and went during our stay. They always have water, so I can fill my water bottle, and coffee available in the lobby. Also a microwave for guest use.

The only negative is the small elevator. I know it can't be helped but I can't give it a 5. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay and we always stay here when we go visit our son.

Clean and great location. Super friendly staff.

Cons:

Elevator was small. It’s limited to three people at a time. However it moved quickly and stairs were nearby.

Great Location, No On-Site Parking
Pros:

The room was fine, and the staff and location were great. However, there's no on-site parking. They don't have their own garage, and the closest public garage is down the street and around the corner, about 650 feet away. It also cost $100 a night when we were there. My suggestion would be to pre-pay for a lot nearby if you don't want to pay that.

Great couples weekend getaway
