Arrive early and check that everything is working, or ask for a better room.
Pros:

My first room had a bath when I thought that I was getting a shower; the shower in the bath had no hook, so one could not use it to shower. Also, the taps did not seem to work, but I was told I was not operating them properly. Anyway, I complained and I was moved to a delightful room with a working shower. The photos give an overly good impression of the hotel. In fairness to the staff they responded to my complaint. I slept well both nights as the beds were reasonably comfortable and the area is quiet. The location is amazing.

Cons:

The shower did not work.

THEY ARE FALSE ADVERTISING THEIR ROOMS. THE PICTURES OF THE BUILDING OR THE ROOMS WERE PROBABLY MADE TEN YEARS AGO AND THE WHOLE PLACE IS DILAPIDATED, STAINED, FEELS SKETCHY AND UNWELCOMING. THE OWNERS KNOW ABOUT IT AND ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE, NOT WILLING TO MAKE IT RIGHT BY THEIR GUESTS. THATS WHY THEY OFFER ROOMS SO CHEAP UNDER NON-REFUNDABLE. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE.

Great staff
Pros:

The location is fabulous so close to the Tube (just bear in mind there are stairs if you have heavy luggage) and Portabello Road - I dropped off my bags and got a whatsapp message when the room was ready and the lovely Sarah had taken my bags to the room and had a fan on (It was in a heatwave and I explained earlier how hot I had been). Sarah is an asset to this hotel so lovely, helpful and engaging. Its a lovely old building in a beautiful area. I was a solo traveller and felt safe.

The room was small if two people had of been staying but perfect for a solo traveller

Pros:

Posizione perfetta, l'hotel è situato in una via residenziale tranquilla con pochissimo passaggio di turisti. La stanza era pulita e curata. Ottima accoglienza della receptionist, gentilissima.

Cons:

Si vede che l'hotel è un po' vecchiotto e manca un po' di cura nelle rifiniture e nei dettagli, ma sono davvero aspetti secondari rispetto al resto dei benefici (posizione, accoglienza).

Undvik detta hotell!!!
Pros:

Tyckte inte om något med detta hotell.

Cons:

Litet och ofräscht rum, med t e x en heltäckningsmatta med diverse fläckar. Badrummet var inte ordentligt städat och nedslitet. Ingen AC utan en fläkt som stod mitt på golvet. Ogästvänlig personal som var väldigt ovillig att hjälpa till när vi började framföra våra klagomål.

Hotellet presenteras på ett helt annat sätt på Booking.com vilket är anmärkningsvärt. Och något som vi trodde Booking.com kollade upp innan de börjar samarbeta med hotellet.

Ansvarig chef för hotellet medger att dubbelrummen har en bättre standard än enkelrummen.
När vi kom in i hotellet fick också en känsla av att hotellet var under avveckling???

Jag och min kamrat valde att lämna hotellet efter en natt och fick ett otroligt bra hotell för samma pris.

Men vi fick inte tillbaka våra pengar för de nätter vi skulle ha bott på The Abbey Notting
Hill. Vilket hade visat att de ville kompensera oss för våra tråkiga upplevelser. Vilket såklart också påverkade våra dagar i London.

Well.
- No AC. It is so extremely hot inside even on an average summer day. So better not to book it during the summer period.
- there is mold around the sink.
- toilet leaks.
- bed linings with spots of unknown origin. Might be blood or dirt.
- bed linings either were not changed for a while, or it was so extremely humid that linings just got musty.

So, the main point is that it is extremely bad value for money. As a cheap hostel it would be ok. But at such rates it is exorbitantly poor use of money to book this hotel.

Nice, friendly little hotel in London
Pros:

I have stayed at the Abbey a few times I was impressed that the receptionist remembered me from my previous visit 8 months earlier. The Abbey offers a nice clean room in a quiet area with restaurants and a tube stop nearby. The rooms are small but decent value for London.

Cons:

Everything was fine.
