This property was recently renovated. I got married at the wedding venue next-door and my family stayed at the hotel. They did a horrible job at the renovation floors are uneven, light switches were old never replaced, water leak from the shower all over the floor. They did a horrible job in the remodel. I don’t even know how it passed inspection. It’s really sad because the venue is in a good location. The staff is amazing there. That’s the only BRIGHT side to that property. I would never stay there again. Plus they charge $22 a day for parking in a tiny little lot that should be free. That was the most ridiculous charge.
I stated that in the paragraph above
Easy location to locate. Next to a good course and walking distance to local pubs.
Check in is after 3pm. We arrived at 5pm and we couldn't check in till an hour later. They had computer issues. So we waited in the lobby till they were ready. The a/c to our room #403 did not work. Probably why a water cooler was placed in the bedroom. Try to sleep with a noisy water cooler running all night. Asked for another room but they were overbooked.
The property was clean
The toilet was tiny, made for children.
There was no soap in the shampoo dispenser.
The room was very nice, the only issue was the ripped screen on the door to the balcony. Overall the room exceeded my expectations. Great central location to everything
Breakfast was good. Plenty of choices
Our bedroom was across from the interstate 5 freeway. We could not sleep all night all night due to the traffic noise as the door was not soundproof. On our arrival the toilet did not flush. It was fixed after the front desk was informed. Had to run the tap for 5 to 10 minutes to get hot water
It was under construction and we didn't know it before hand.
They did not mention that they are under renovation
They did not handle well the assignment of rooms and when their electronic card system was not working… I didn’t feel safe when they left the card key outside our door when the electronic system started working… we were coming in from an outing and when we asked the front desk to open our room door for G’s, she said she the electronic system is now working and left our cards outside our door.
Do not go to this hotel, it is crazy how Hilton is letting guests book and stay here in its current condition. They are currently “renovating the place”. With that there is no access to the pool, lobby, gym, balconies, card readers, breakfast, and the halls are loud and dirty. As a diamond member Hilton greatly disappointed me with this one.
This place was under construction and should have been closed.
Stay away from this hotel until remodeling is done. We are Diamond members with Hilton, nothing on the Hilton Honors site indicating construction. The hotels website makes note of construction but not indicating that weekends are affected. Woke up to construction personnel doing their job, not their fault. Staffs comments were…it’s on the website. Construction debris in hallways, the place is a construction site and it looks it. We have stayed here multiple times…based on the front desks comments…never again.
We had left jewelry in room after checking out came back within 2 hrs after calling front desk to find it gone, the room had not been cleaned yet, but bedding was om dresser. They checked with housekeeping to no avail. Filled out the questioner they sent with all the details, heard nothing back then contacted Hilton corporate, still have not heard back from anyone. Being there was only a two hour window I would think they could review the card access and CCTV in hallway to see who entered the room and follow up with them. After this experience I will be reluctant to stay at any Hilton property. Be aware if staying at thas property.
They misrepresented the hotel with newly renovated rooms. The entire hotel was still being renovated. No breakfast other than a bag with a few things. Gym, pool closed. Construction truck in the parking structure.
Everything
Stayed here for our wedding weekend. We stayed while hotel was under rennovation. We were told there would be no renovations during our stay when we originally booked. I had a block of 22 rooms + some that booked outside the room block.
Days before the wedding the ones outside the room block gets cancelled. Management never gives me a call back to address these issues. When asking for a person in charge at check in I was told they would call me - never did.
There was safety concerns as well - front desk was giving room keys to rooms without identification checks. It happen many times in the 2 days we were there.. I've seen it first hand.
Someone in my own room block had been checked into someone else room as well.
One of my rooms I booked didnt have power to the living room and they only extended 20% off which is not acceptable. We found out late at night after our wedding and was told thats best they can do.
I worked for Hilton and managed two properties and also spearheaded renovations so what they did is not right.
I wouldn't recommend anyone having a wedding or event in San Clemente to stay here. They may sound nice over the phone but once they have your money they disregard you. The price was may be really good but have to remember you pay what you get.. meaning poor service and headaches.
You are better off staying in Dana Point and making that 10-15min drive if you want to stay at a Hilton property.
The hotel is under construction and the noise level is deafening. The pool Jacuzzi and gym are closed and the elevator is working intermittently.
We went elsewhere!
Water not hot and heater not working properly.
ok more fruit
elevator indicator lights did not work.
Rooms were nice.
Charged extra for parking when already over priced rooms.
