Bad bug in first room we were assigned. 2nd room had a bit of a water issue with bathtub shower getting beyond the curtain and running on the floor.

The general manager, Chris Owen should have responded to a request for a call when I had come out of my bathroom after a morning shower on the 5th floor to see a man on a crane in the window.

He never called me when requested. I had to call him when leaving. He was not apologetic or even interested. He said he’d give me some Hilton points. Not necessary. I moved to a Marriott in Cary. How would he feel if his 70 year old mother was subjected to that.

Additionally, the curtains needed to be open because there was hardly any lighting in the room. When I asked for a desk lamp I was told they didn’t have any. I’d have to buy one myself.
After the above described shock the housekeeper found a lamp for me. Not impressive performance. I’ve been in many Hilton’s. This one didn’t measure up.

The was amazing and pleasant. Ms Key was very helpful at check in.

Cons:

The room had a for of old cigarette smoke and we weee traveling with a newborn infant. Also, not directly the hotels issue, but customers we consistently out in the parking lot smoking marajuana and there was strong stench in the air our entire stay. It seems like staff should have made contact with the other customers and asked them to refrain. One individual was in a red Jeep and there were different people smoking marajuana in it every time I went outside. I found it offensive, especially since they were always occupying a handicap spot and I had to walk through their smoke with my baby every time we went outside.

Overall okay, some things could have been way better and didn’t meet the brand’s standards

Cons:

I’m used to staying at Homewood Suites but this time, a few things were lacking in the room when we checked in : only one fork and one spoon in the kitchen for a room that should accommodate four people. Also we were a party of 3 but there wasn’t any extra linen, bedsheets, or pillows for the third person on the reservation (for the sofa bed) in addition to the linen in the bedroom.
Housekeeping was a little bit lacking compared to the usual
