What a great spot. The location was so central, we walked everywhere. The rooms were clean and we appreciated the option to have cleaning every day or skip it to save water and in return for that we got a glass of wine. All staff we interacted with were very kind and helpful. Yes you can get a cheaper hotel away from this central location but staying here is good value and you get to enjoy more of your holiday rather than spending your time getting to places. We didn’t find it noisy at all even though there all cafes and pubs lining the streets all around you. Would definitely stay there again.
Recently, I stayed at the NH Hotel City Centre Amsterdam. Around 11 p.m., I was feeling bored in my room, so I went to the lobby and asked a staff member if I could use the restroom. She said it was fine.
After I came out of the restroom, a man in the lobby approached me and shouted racist insults at me, including “Chinese bitch.” I sat down in the lobby, but he approached me again and said “Hi.” I ignored him, but he continued shouting loudly and made me feel as though I might be in danger.
At the time, there appeared to be no staff present in the lobby to intervene. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe inside the hotel. Later, someone apparently reported the incident, and a staff member called my room to apologise.
I don’t know exactly what happened or whether there was any connection to the hotel staff, so I don’t want to make assumptions. However, the experience was frightening and unacceptable. If you are an Asian traveller visiting Amsterdam, please stay alert and be careful, especially if you encounter aggressive or discriminatory behaviour.

The hotel is located in the middle of everything you may want to visit that is never more than around 20 mins by foot. We traveled with our dog and encountered no issues in the property, the location also made it very easy to bring your pet along to visit Amsterdam. The staff was generally very friendly and helpful, although sometimes a bit swamped at the reception desk.

During check in staff rudely insisted room would not be available until 3pm. After waiting 1.5 hrs in lobby I asked another staff person if I could take a cheaper room to get early check in. She indicated original booked room was in fact ready instead of waiting another 1.5. Original staff member was also inflexible about late check out. Terrible customer service!

Resepsiyon büyük bir hata yaptı: oda ücreti check-in ‘den 2 gün önce alınmış olmasına rağmen check out sırasında tekrar oda ücretini almışlar. Ben evime döndükten sonra bankamdan farkettim ve otele bildirdim iade yaptılar ama ya farketmeseydim??

NH City Centre Amsterdam. I had a great time in the city and the hotel was very well located and I no pudo walk or take public transport within minutes walk. I came with 2 of my sisters and hotel gave me an upgrade for a larger room with 3 beds so we all slept perfectly and had more than enough room for all of us.
Close to the canals, wonderful staff, large elevator, large room
