property good as always, been going for a number of years.
shocked to pay £20 for parking plus a 20pence service fee???? we were advised by hotel reception we had to pay this even although it appeared we were outside the actual car park. No warning of parking fees by booking.com. always been free at this hotel.
videos are available where car was parked.

Location
Unbearably hot and noisy. Complained at reception who didn’t do anything and also by email twice since our stay and no reply. Lift out of order to the bar upstairs. We specifically stayed here as we were at an event at the bar upstairs and no prior warning there was no access currently due to ongoing works. Very poor. And to email twice with no acknowledgment. Avoid staying here
Historic, vintage decor
Very noisy. Trains and guests exceptionally loud.
The room was clean and the staff were good when checking
The room was next to a train line and there was a big extractor fan running on the building outside. Due to this I did not get much sleep at all. informed the staff in the morning and they just said we're very sorry.
Location
The fact that my letter of complaint has so far been ignored
I have stayed here before and loved it then so decided to come back.
Staff are friendly and the hotel is in the perfect location
Not much tbh
The noise from surrounding area and windows jammed open. Miserable atmosphere. Mediocre bland food, poor coffee at breakfast
Great location close to the train station, main sights, riverside and shopping area, overall very comfortable location to explore Newcastle for either leisure or business. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I stayed in a room overlooking the riverside and Tyne Bridge and the panorama over the city was very enjoyable. Overall, a pleasant stay despite the cleanliness of the rooms should be improved.
The hotel is quite outdated and the room I stayed in was well beyond its lifecycle and would need at least soft refurbishment. The general cleanliness and maintenance of the room could be improved. I have never seen so dirty windows and I understand the seagulls problem as well as the train passing close by but in a good quality 4-star hotel it is not appropriate. In the bathroom too the mould around the bathtub should be addressed as not appealing to look at.
Location
Poor customer services
The room keys kept on not working
Too expansive for drinks.
Shower/bath waste was blocked
Lovely suite (upgrade), friendly and welcoming. Great views from rooftop bar (though it's not easiest to find).
Our room was exceedingly hot when we arrived and you could only open one window so it stayed hot. Luckily there was a fan...
Access to hotel from Above club as that's were we attended a party.
Food in the Rewood bar was good but one meal was missing an item and although corrected it was with no apology.
Staff just going through the motions of their roles. Poor customer service except at breakfast when the staff were very friendly and helpful and I managed to get porridge on request. However, overall breakfast was disappointing.
No air conditioning on a warm night was not great.
I have submitted a formal complaint about a fire alarm fault which triggered several times early hours. Customer service with this was terrible and resulted in 2 calls from reception once the problem was resolved which just disturbed us further.
Close to city centre.
No tissues in bathroom. Empty box left on the side
