I would not return to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone else
Pros:

There was nothing I liked about this hotel.

Cons:

When we arrived to check in, the first thing we noticed was an overwhelming odour in the lobby. It smelled like rotting food and was so unpleasant that it made me feel nauseous.

Unfortunately, the room wasn't much better. It had a stale, musty smell, and we had to turn off the air conditioner because it was blowing an even worse odour into the room. We ended up opening the window just to get some fresh air.

There was also construction taking place outside the hotel, and the constant noise made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

The room itself felt very dated. As soon as you opened the door, the bathroom sink was immediately inside the entrance, which was an unusual layout. The carpet throughout the room was old and appeared to hold years of odours, and even the area around the bathroom sink was carpeted. The bathroom was in desperate need of updating.

The beds were let down even further by the pillows, which were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. We also found that the bed sheets were dirty, which was very disappointing.

Although the TV was modern, it had virtually no working channels.

Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was exactly the same both mornings, there was no fresh fruit available, and the apples and bananas that were offered looked old and unappetizing.

The biggest disappointment was that the hotel looked nothing like the photos online. The pictures made it appear much cleaner, newer, and more inviting than it actually was. We felt the online images were very misleading.

Overall, the hotel felt poorly maintained, outdated, unclean, and nothing like what was advertised. Based on our experience, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Fantastic Hotel
Pros:

This is a great hotel! The room was exceptionally clean! By far, the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Bedding was crisp, smelled nice, and the beds were beautifully made. Front desk attendants were super friendly and helpful with suggestions on local spots to visit. The coffee and breakfast muffins were delicious. Oh, and the pool was nice-really clean and at the perfect temp. Next time I visit, I will stay here again. I will be recommending the Mackinaw City Baymont to anyone and everyone I know. Thank you for a great experience!

Cons:

The only thing I can think of that could be improved upon is the window curtains. Maybe extend them a few more inches either way to block out the outside light that illuminates the outer edge of the window at night. The little bit of light that came in didnt bother me, but I know some people have to be in pitch-black for sleeping. But again, this is just an observation and not something that was a negative for me and my experience. I had a great time!

I would highly recommend this hotel because it will exceed your expectations or at least meet.
Pros:

This is the cleanest hotel. My family and I have ever stayed at while visiting Mackinaw city. We have stayed at three other hotels and they were always under expectations. They were dirty, staff was rude, the value for the amount paid was not worth it at all. This hotel was the exact opposite! This hotel was clean, the employees were very polite, and I was just impressed in general. The location was great for walk ability to the stores.

Cons:

Honestly, the only thing I can really complain about is that it’s not on the lake. All the other hotels that are on the lake are always disgusting though. And then the breakfast just is really basic and there’s no non-pork options for meat. Which is really unfortunate. Maybe have turkey or chicken sausage available?
